Think the framing of this article is really problematic. It presents this entire protest as somehow being motivated by antisemitism and hatred. People are angry - with legitimate reason - and they have a right to protest.

This afternoon I joined this demonstration calling for the release of the 209 hostages held in Gaza by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. It should be entirely possible to get behind this basic message, regardless of anything else you think about this conflict.
1/2 We joined today’s solidarity rally in London calling to release Israeli hostages being held by Hamas.
There are wounded hostages who the Red Cross aren’t allowed to treat.
Many of the hostages are children - some saw their parents being murdered.
Over 200 people taken.

The response to this tweet is a barrage of tweets decrying that I am not tweeting about Palestinians. When I tweet about the abuse of Palestinian rights I get the same response in reverse.
Has humanity really evolved to that level of unsophisticated thinking?

I do not understand why there has been no media reporting of this. The horrors that people are living through is going devastate this region for a generation.
As others have said, the lack of media attention in this is absolutely outrageous. The Israeli military forced staff to abandon these babies, and left them to die alone on their hospital beds. How can any human heart bear the thought of it?

So relieved the cease-fire has held. Today I spent an hr speaking with an Israeli & Palestinian, one grieving for his parents murdered on Oct 7th & the other whose cousin was shot in the West Bank this week. Both desperate find a path through together. Another future is possible.

1/3 Such is the experience of Jews in the 20th century that it’s a quirk of history that my family ended up the UK and families murdered on Oct 7th lived where they did in Israel. Liel looks so much like my children and I can’t stop thinking it could have been them.
12 year old Liel, her twin brother and their grandfather were murdered by Hamas.
It took 38 days to identify Liel’s remains. It’s not possible to perform a burial, so a few of her toys will be buried so that the family can hold a funeral.
