Extraordinary that one of the country’s most experienced and accomplished journalists did not notice that a club he’s been a member of for 31 years did not allow women members until there was a public campaign.
Various Garrick Club members including Sting, Mark Knopfler and leading actors and producers have reportedly written to the Club chairman saying they’ll resign if the membership doesn’t vote to accept women next Tuesday. Many others like me would also find it impossible to stay.

The Kerem Shalom crossing which is used to move aid into Gaza is closed tonight because Hamas aimed a barrage of rockets at it.
Hamas could not care less about people in Gaza.
They want them to suffer as much as possible to persuade people in the West it is all Israel's fault.
Hamas attack humanitarian aid because they don’t care for humanity.
The world must act to release the hostages, and free the people of Gaza from Hamas’s vicious rule.
