2/2 He was an activist who advocated tirelessly for his community, to ensure their struggle was heard. Yinon Levy has been sanctioned by many countries, including the UK. He is a cruel extremist; but he’s part of a system. This is the devastating reality of the occupation.

1/2 Odeh Hathaleen was murdered today in Um al-Kheir, following an attack by a group of settlers, including Yinon Levy who was filmed shooting at a group of Palestinians. Odeh warmly welcomed us into his village & spoke to many British Jews. We’re heartbroken and angry.

The words and actions of the Israeli government have made their intentions clear. This war must end. Staying silent in the face of the human suffering in Gaza is an affront to our Jewish values. We demand action is taken to stop this immediately.

3/3 So, those in favour of a two state solution must recognise both states - before we’re faced with a one state reality. Israelis & Palestinians both have the right to self determination, security and freedom. Recognition is a first step in the process to long term resolutions.

2/3 Today the Knesset voted in favor of a declaration to apply Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank. For now, it’s non-binding. But with settlement growth & increased Palestinian displacement - it’s clear this is already a plan in action.

1/3 Yesterday at the Knesset, a conference on the “Gaza Riviera” set out a plan to annex & settle Gaza. The goal: 1.2 million Jewish settlers, no Palestinians - they’ll emigrate or be forcibly transferred. Minister Smotrich said Gaza will be an “inseparable part of Israel”.

These violent individuals may be a minority but they’re being empowered by members of government who call Ayman, and other Arab MKs, a terror supporter & an enemy. Action must be taken to ensure his safety.

Solidarity with MK @AyOdeh who was violently attacked by far-right protesters today - who chanted “death to Arabs”, threw stones and spat at him. He was asked to speak at a protest. In the face of hatred, he spoke against fascism & for Jewish-Palestinian solidarity.

With everything going on in Israel-Palestine, news of more settlement plans may not seem significant. But the E1 plan is aimed at preventing the prospect of two states: it will bisect the West Bank & detach it from East Jerusalem. This advancement is major & mustn’t be ignored.
