Today, the Deputy Speaker presiding over the Budget Statement in the UK House of Commons is Nus Ghani. Nus Ghani was born in Kashmir, Pakistan. There should not be a single person born in Pakistan in the UK House of Commons.

Here is the Sun's pitifully small apology for its lie about benefits tourism - a lie that was accepted as truth by millions and helped deliver Brexit. These lies are perverting our democracy. At a minimum, apologies should be published in the same location and size as the lie.

The Wall Street Journal alleges that the real motivation behind Trump’s eagerness to force Ukraine into an ugly surrender is the idea that a lot of people close to him can make a lot of money doing business and deals in Russia. If this is true, beyond the disgusting morality of

FWIW, I do know Robbie Gibb, having met him almost 30 years ago when he was working for the Tories & always quite liked him. But the claim by this self-identifying “Thatcherite” to be a completely impartial BBC arbiter is as ludicrous as me claiming I’m not partial towards Labour

“You can't make this shit up.” “They've snipped out 10 seconds of what he was going to say, and left him absolutely seething.” Why did the BBC make the “chilling” decision to edit out @rcbregman’s criticism of Donald Trump when it went to broadcast? https://t.co/Ejyeu1NwhW

Why did the BBC approve Rutger Bregman's description of Trump as "the most openly corrupt president in American history" in his Reith Lecture in October, but cut it from broadcast less than a month...

What is hard to square is the timeline here. If the Trump line was fine when it was given as a live speech ( October 28th) and it was suddenly “not fine” as a R4 recording this week - what changed ? On November 3rd, the Telegraph story into the Panorama edits broke. Maybe that’s

The BBC's has responded in The Guardian that this was a routine editorial decision, but also that it was made on legal advice. Those two explanations don’t fit together. The edit was made at the last minute, after editorial approval and four weeks after the live recording. A

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture. They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

NEW There's no overstating how significant the Nathan Gill case is. On Friday, the ex-Ukip/Reform politician and close associate of Nigel Farage was jailed for over ten years for taking multiple bribes via a handler from a friend of Putin. It's a complex, detail-heavy story..🧵⬇️

This thread is must read. The conclusion is simultaneously eye- popping and utterly predictable. The ‘peace plan’ for Ukraine delivered by the White House seems to have been translated from Russian into English. In other words it’s the Kremlin plan that Trump seems to be passing
