I was asked what my work is in Newark once returning and I said I am a. Nuclear Medicine Physician and the red flag lit up in both his eyes. Was grilled for 5’ afterwards.
Now i just say cancer researcher.

You know that this is not open access, do you? Because it only allows access to papers from labs that can afford to pay this. 10% of that fee I could understand but unless you publish a detailed document what cost ist covered by this fee and proof of no benefit it reeks of greed.

I brought my kids to the Marches for women and science and other protests in NYC with more than 200k attendants. It is a lesson in civil rights. IDK what was happening around and before but spraying a kid is not acceptable IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Clinic today. Someone with MSKCC batch asked me about imaging equipment in 1818. I started a monologue on Röntgen in 1895 and that there was no imaging before other than microscopy and telescope, Leeuwenhoek etc.
Turns out he was from IT looking for a PACS station in room 1818…
