Which languages were available on Democratic congressional candidates' campaign websites in 2022?
The vast majority of candidate websites were solely available in English with a sizeable group that had Spanish options. Only six candidates had more than English and Spanish.

This is exposing me as a nerd but I hate this account so much — through lying and stalling, they held several Nigerian election pages hostage for a year until they got the names changed to the inaccurate name they wanted
@LinkofSunshine
I had like a year long beef with them, the only reason I gave it up was because I didn’t know nearly enough about internal Wiki arbitration to get someone to solve it. Also, it was clear that they didn’t care at all about the pages or really any of the pages, it’s an ego trip
Party switch aside, it is really bizarre that the mayor for over a million people can be elected without opposition on a random day in May of an off year
In order to stop his own impeachment, a governor in Nigeria set fire to and now demolished the state legislature building. It’s be based in previous court cases that voided impeachments that were conducted in buildings other than the state legislature. No building=No impeachment.

I don't really get the end goal of traditionalist social conservatives. Like you are going to lose, it might take 10 years or 50 but eventually you are going to lose. Like no matter what group you despise rn, in a few years they will be accepted and you will be viewed as bigoted.

The Japanese succession debate is so incredibly stupid. This is the line of succession and national governments have spent decades kicking the can down the road despite princesses leaving the royal family every few years
I think about this No Labels map all the time. It's so laughable that multiple people that have been elected to offices genuinely think this is a viable path to victory

It’s actually horrific how one man is drastically impacting the futures of hundreds of thousands of kids all for a presidential run that looks like it’ll just get a fifth of the vote
“Today O’Adams is marching,” Mayor Adams says at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, then pivots: “This misnomer that this is a city out of control, it’s just a lie. … We are not going to surrender to the belief that b/c we have a random act of violence this is a city out of control.”

Japanese monarchy has agnatic primogeniture - meaning princesses and men descended from princesses arent in the line of succession. Additionally, if princesses marry commoners (which they have to bc there are no other noble houses anymore), they are booted from the royal family.

Azerbaijan is a fascinating case study on how regimes can use resources and geography to get the world to ignore and even support the worst
It’s incredible that Moskowitz is taking this fake conciliator tone here, while having started the argument on Twitter and simultaneously liking this tweet:
My family was also killed in the Holocaust. In Germany and in Poland. My grandmother was in the kinder-transport. They also instilled values in me. It’s why I voted for aid to Israel and for aid to Gaza. We see each other at work, we are both better than doing this here.
There was widespread approval for changing and full plans for reform in the mid-2000s, but literally the moment someone was pregnant with a boy they shelved the plans like idiots

In the pre-Trump era, a significant number of city councils had strong GOP contingents that were later wiped out. Indianapolis was a prime example as its 2015 elections left Dems with a 1-seat majority but just four years later, Dems won a 15-seat supermajority.
Have to say, Haley staying in the race will give a phenomenal data point for the next few years of GOP primaries — in so many places, there'll be a clear Trump vs. Non-Trump results to help predict and understand future downballot primaries

It's underdiscussed but Trump narrowly won two Hawaii house districts, probably the first time a Republican has won a Hawaii HD since 2004. Some parts of Oahu swung 30 points right.
One of the areas in Hawaii that swung sharply towards Trump from 2016 is the area represented by the sole Republican in the Hawaii Senate. This area is very blue collar and heavily Asian. The precinct east of it? That's majority white and home to military housing.
As one would expect from an ancestrally Democratic area, there are a number of Democratic county officials in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. However, these Dem officeholders are not evenly distributed as their presence aligns with higher concentrations of Finnish-Americans.
