@PleaseSavemich
I’d much rather continue to protect myself and others from a deadly virus than join in aby activities with those who don’t care. Always.
@1goodtern
I make a point of saying it’s to protect them and me from getting or giving Covid. Period. Saying you are immunocompromised or live with someone who is I think it’s making it sound like everyone shouldn’t mask. They should.
@JessicaLexicus
You know what’s really depressing? Knowing you should share this with everyone you know but you realize quickly that everyone has also told you they’ve heard enough about Covid from you. It’s both tragic and infuriating. But here we are.
@JeromeAdamsMD
What does “up to date” on vaccines mean at this point? Every six months? Every 4? Once a year? And what age groups?
The
@CDCgov
has been a nightmare of confusion on this front. 🤬
@erinoverbey
@NewYorker
Women in public/government entity roles face the same discrimination. We all need to fight this with everything we’ve got. Thank you for important thread.
@JessicaLexicus
I worked for two government social service agencies that pushed this book to their employees. One in Texas. One in California. Explains a lot.
@KenPaxtonTX
The fact that you cheer the fact that people may well be in fear of their lives in exercising their right to vote is truly disbursing. You should be ashamed.
@CDCgov
@Laurie_Garrett
From studies in the UK, this is flat wrong. Also WHT does "short periods of shared air space" mean? How long is short? You can't really be thinking this is the way public health messaging should work, can you?
@LauraMiers
Even sadder for those parents and children who did take every possible precaution but were failed by their schools, their government and their friends & neighbors.
@laurieallee
And yet just try to get even your most well informed friends — hell, friends you’ve worked in public health for years — to pay attention. It’s appalling.
@DrLeanaWen
No but it normalizes not wearing them. And stigmatizes those who are in many places. And in no way is as effective as masks worn by all. Your messaging is dangerous. Please stop.
@CDCDirector
@CDCgov
Oh Mandy. What are you doing? Just trying to show us things are back to “normal?” Please know your job is to protect and educate, not spin for
@POTUS
. Very disappointing!
@medriva
Note span it took less time this winter/spring to rise 100,000 deaths than last winter spring. Mild? No masks in schools/transportation/workplace? WTF are we doing!?!?
@CDCgov
@POTUS
@AlisaValdesRod1
So very sorry. I know others (in both LA and Austin) with similar experience. It’s everywhere now and we’re doing less than ever to stop it. It’s a nightmare.
@ResearcherGrace
@CDCgov
@CDCDirector
I’ve walked out of every elevator anyone else, masked or no, walks into. Too close/no ventilation even masked. So sorry you’ve had to deal with this and take good care.
@CDCgov
And if you call to register a complaint they keep you on multiple holds for 20+ minutes and then hang up on you.
So complain here. LOUDLY!!!
@CDCDirector
This is a death sentence for many Mandy. And it’s on you,
@HHSGov
and
@POTUS
@DrLeanaWen
They’re needed now. They were never not needed. Decisions by the
@CDCgov
here have been horribly, tragically wrong. The only answer is to keep them in place while the virus is still killing 100’s a day and 1000’s more suffering from
#LongCovid
.
@cha_myoung
It can also “knock you off your feet” for years. And died at least 10% of the time even if you think initially you’re fully recovered.
Suggesting this is mild is dangerous and flat wrong.
@howdidwehether1
@EricTopol
No, but we do for others to. One way masking is no where near as effective. I was at a doctor’s office yesterday and no one but me and the doctor was masked. This is appalling dangerous.
@robdelaney
@People4Bernie
This ad takes nothing away from Bernie's vision and may help people on the fence get off of it and do the right thing. Which is essential at this point.
@CDCDirector
Oh please. The best thing you can do right now is resign. Your recommendations are worse than useless. And people will die for this reason alone.
@DrTomFrieden
Why do you keep saying for only the immunocompromised? We’re all at risk for
#LongCovid
and serious consequences as the vaccine effectiveness wanes.
@MLS_Dave
Yep. Too bad
@CDCDirector
is too busy talking about Barbie instead.
Hey Mandy, we could use a little help here. Seriously. We’re dying out here.
@CDCgov
