Thanksgiving, like many modern holidays has a checkered past. It’s a day of gratitude celebrated by people whose ancestors largely stole a land from its native inhabitants. But life isn’t zero sum. I’m privileged, and I can be grateful while finding ways to make a better world.

Thankful for winning the demographic lottery and being born in the US. As a result, I was able to follow the traditional playbook and reap the long-term rewards: get a job, find a partner, buy a home and save via newly created 401K. Now we are in a position to support our family.
