Some of the comments about Kate Garraway show that for whatever reason, we've more than our fair share of heartless people in society. Maybe the pandemic did it, i don't know, but to write such vile stuff about someone you don't know who's clearly gone through hell is appalling.
It's absolutely ridiculous. And the most worrying thing is, they seem to have done such a good job on demonising foreigners that many of the comments on here say they haven't gone far enough. Appalling government, appalling decision that will decimate the care sector.
100,000 unfilled vacancies in the NHS & 150,000 unfilled vacancies across the adult social care sector - both heavily reliant on hiring workers from abroad & the MAD HATTER HOME SECRETARY’S cunning plan to fix the crisis is to make it even harder for people to come here to work!
I watched the
@Channel4News
interview just now and felt so sorry for him. As he said, his life was ruined for standing up for the truth and fair play over the Vote Leave campaign.
The more time I spend with
@shahmiruk
, the more I realise that he has acted out of pure principle throughout. It’s remarkable how rare that has become. You can help him sue the people who sought to wreck his life here:
The one time leader of the free world who now lives alone in a hotel sharing buffets, common areas, and staff with strangers, yearns for attention and relevance so badly, he now stands on a patio step every night ranting to tens of people about a 6 month old election that he lost
@JewishChron
@DouglasKMurray
@JakeWSimons
Douglas Murray comes across as a hideously conceited man with a huge superiority complex who cries "antisemitism" any time anyone disagrees with him.
What an absolute twat. I've been making a living working from home for 19 years. Since lockdown that my business took a hammering, so I have been earning much less. Does that make the Poundland Rod Stewart feel better? He's an ignorant c**t!
“People that can’t be bothered, staying at home, of course they should get less.”
Charlie Mullins thinks people working from home should get paid less. Do you agree?

But the habit of chucking perishables at figures in public life in order to humiliate and embarrasss goes back to Roman times. Rotten fruit at bad actors, eggs at politicians etc. What's key for me is intent. Did the bloke who lobbed a milkshake underarm mean Farage any harm?
@JuliaHB1
I'd say going to Oxford in what, the eighties, when only 10% or so of all kids even went to ANY university, is in itself quite privileged. I'd imagine you made a few 'contacts' there who came in handy somewhere down the line.
#durhampartygate
is such a desperate straw clutching non-story. There was never any denial of it and it was looked at the time & found not to have broken any rules. Trying to compare it to Boris Johnson's multiple, often denied, events in Downing Street and Whitehall is so lame.
How was Tom Tugendhat allowed to say that Labour will lead us down a path of destruction? That's just scaremongering. I'd defy any government to be worse than this current one

@danwootton
Dan Wootton was originally suspended by GB News for laughing along to Laurence Fox going off on a sexist rant and making misogynistic comments about a female journalist. And you, as a woman, want him to thrive?
Re refugees/asylum seekers, Germany had 102,500 first-time asylum seeker applicants in 2020, Spain had 86,400, France 81,800, Greece 37,900 while in the UK there were just under 29,500. So, if you think we take more than our fair share, think again.
@LozzaFox
Worth remembering that 30,000 Jewish volunteers from Palestine served with the British forces during World War II, and more than 700 were killed. Or maybe convenient to forget at the moment eh?

@BorisJohnson
What better way to start demonstrating British creativity than using a tweaked 50 year old Canadian organisation's logo? On the left, Unboxed2022, on the right the Ontario Educational Communications Authority logo designed back in 1970.
Seeing all the grief Owen Jones was getting on here I decided to watch this, and to be honest, I can't disagree with what he says. I too am anti innocent people being killed, whatever their faith or race.
Here's my response to watching an IDF screening of the 7th October Hamas atrocities.
As I argue, Hamas committed serious and grave war crimes, and none of that is justification for the mass slaughter of the Palestinian people.
@Rachael_Swindon
Picture the scene. A room full of long faces. A box full of phones. A wizened old lady walks round, stopping only to glare at the room's occupants while screeching "what the f*ck are we going to do?". After 6 hours of silence, a voice is heard. "Ask Jeremy?"
#theresaMayStatement
@JuliaHB1
I notice you never even reply to the people who don't use a hashtag but try and make a point about why Brexit will be disastrous for the country. Fingers in ears, head in sand + a we won attitude, won't make it all better. It is still destined to be an unmitigated shambles.
Another anagram of "Unleash Britain's Potential" is "Paint lies on a bus, then trial". You know, give it a go, see if anyone buys into them, that sort of thing. I'm here all election!
You lucky people. This anagram of the Conservative election campaign slogan "Unleash Britain's potential" pretty much sums up where we're at right now.
This new treaty the hapless James Cleverly has signed with Rwanda. As I recall, the original deal involved the UK taking some of their most vulnerable refugees in return, so what's the net gain on headcount, and isn't it all a bit cruel, expensive and pointless?
#ToryChaos
Trump’s decision not to meet the Leader of the Opposition but to meet Farage confirms everything; Trump doesn’t believe in opposition. He is both a threat and an affront to democracy.
@JuliaHB1
That's not possible. It's in the news 24/7 - the in-fighting, the negative assessments, the doubts EU will play ball etc. One can't simply ignore the worry of the consequences of it going pear shaped. In a room of 33, only 1 more voted leave than remain. It's bitterly divided us
@owencocoefc
@BBC
You can hear it here. She wrote this, but it doesn't sound at all convincing. Reading it as if someone else wrote it, or it's not the truth. No mention of Durham or worries over childcare

Seems some think every migrant that ever came to these shores did so so that they could get a regular GP slot. Coming over here, taking our appointments!
I can only surmise it's all part of a plan - not to leave a note about how there's no money left (that's a given, seeing that the Tories have increased the national debt fivefold in 14 years) but to instead leave a whole sector in an almost unfixable mess for Labour to inherit.
A Home Secretary gloating about new measures which will push social care into deeper crisis
A Chief Secretary to the Treasury boasting about a plan which will further trash the economy
A PM excited about ignoring the wishes of business
Lunatics have taken over the asylum

say they spoke to a man identified as Dominic Cummings and were told he was self-isolating. Cummings wife, however, wrote a piece in

magazine (attached) suggesting they remained in their London home and their son played nurse to his dad.
That's surely partly the point. Action was taking against Beth Rigby, but not Boris Johnson, who made the rules and went on TV every night to make sure we understood them, only to now claim he was never advised he was breaking them. He made them!!!!
Beth Rigby is on talking about Boris and Covid guidance and rules. She seems to have forgotten tghat she was suspended for breaking Covid guidance and rules.
I don't want a digital programme. I don't want extra loyalty points. I don't want a welcome pack. I don't even want a 10% discount. I want to be able to say I'm away, or ill or whatever, and let someone else take advantage of a ticket I've already paid 100s for.

"there's a word that literally only means they not trans" Call me old fashioned, but I thought that word was 'woman'. I didn't even know what 'Cis" meant until I looked it up just now. Why have we become obsessed with giving people labels they don't necessarily need?

Surely a simple way to stop the protests would be for Israel to stop slaughtering innocent children in Gaza. Over 10,000 so far & growing on a daily basis. Most people aren't antisemitic OR pro Hamas, they're anti mass killing and Israel claiming it's just defending itself.
@MarinaHyde
Mary Wakefield's story sounds even less convincing in an audio format. She performed this on Radio 4. Given safeguarding was central to the reason they legged it to Durham why does she proudly tell us that their son played doctor & nurse to his dad?
@obbsie
My son was threatened by 3 youths in Croydon last Friday, to the point of one of them saying to his mate "back it out" which I understand means get your knfe out. Thankfully he remained calm and managed to get away. Reports like this morning's one just make me think, "what if"?
What a truly loathsome person Richard Tice is. Without an ounce of compassion, he stands there taking the p*ss, with his sarcastic fake concern. You think any of those people actually want to live that kind of life? What would you prefer, we abandon them to live on the streets?
This is no more and no less than the explicit manipulation, exploitation and abuse of the most vulnerable by the ghoul that is Richard Tice.
Every day a terrible new low.
@JuliaHB1
It's not possible to simply move on/ignore when Brexit is constantly making the headlines - and not for good reasons. All the signs amongst the commentators are that things WILL get worse post Brexit. While we can't stop it, we can and should question and debate about it.
@JuliaHB1
Brexit's ruined the Uk. It's made us a laughing stock on the world stage and led to nothing but higher prices, a rise in poverty, the ruination of many small businesses, etc. etc. Pathetic t-shirt wearing clowns like you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I agree, it IS tiring, and normally political stuff doesn't interest me, but this is such a massive step we're thinking of taking, despite all the warning signs, ineptitude (David Davies and co) and uncertainty that it is hard to just sit by and watch the car crash it's become

You cannot seriously be suggesting an intern with a few years experience deserves a peerage, when there are thousands of people who have served their country in far more comprehensive ways and for a hell of a lot longer. It's nothing more than Boris Johnson ridiculing the system
@rickygervais
It didn't look like it. I reckon if we'd been around in Victorian times, seeing a ham actor getting a rotten tomato winging his way would have been entertaining too.
@1974Hamilton
Yet apparently it is perfectly fine that the Tories gave the DUP, a party affiliated to a loyalist paramilitary group (the UDA), £1bn to help keep their majority. That is far more f***ed up than anything Jeremy Corbyn has done
@dannymacca81
I'll say it again Danny, my dad died when I was 13. I'd have given anything to still have him around. Think of your kids. They need you, not just a memory of you. Life has a habit of changing. You don't know what's round the next corner, but whatever it is, you can overcome it.
@sophielouisecc
Best you stay out of such conversations as it makes you sound like you fully agree with the slaughter of 10,000 innocent children in Gaza. When the IRA came to London and blew people up, we didn't retaliate by killing innocent Irish people. There'd have been outrage.

for every occasion. Take Channel 4's climate debate and the decision to put an ice sculpture in the place of the absent Boris Johnson.
@EWW_Dominator
@JonathanPieNews
My guess is Mr Pie, like me, would perhaps expect in the current climate, an MP to have other things on their mind over & above getting a pool and tennis court installed (while at same time denying the poorest in society £20 a week UC). Good luck to him, but file under tactless.
Lord Marland says Boris Johnson was offended by the fact the Privileges Committee didn't believe him - that's because he's a liar who seems to have seldom, if ever, been called out before for what he is. First sign of getting found out, the fat blob's off, like shit off a shovel.
@JolyonRubs
Can you do me a favour? Retweet this clip of James Cleverly assuring the House yesterday that we won't be leaving the ECHR? I'd quite like to keep my human rights, as I'm sure most other sane people would. Thanks in anticipation.
@mishtal
Plenty of British Jews were on the march on Saturday. Unlike you, they have some compassion for their fellow human beings....innocent children and all. And, unlike you, they would be outraged whoever the perpetrators and victims of the mass slaughter going on in Gaza were.
A Brucey bonus anagram about Boris Johnson's decision not to do the Andrew Neil show. He loves the accolades and the attention when he's ding a party rally, but, as an anagram of

shows....

Can't believe some replies to this tweet are making Grieve out to be the villain here. Maybe they think Russian interference in UK affairs is OK.
