In response to these children's deaths, I've seen people refuse to believe they died from flu, suggest the children had comorbidities, or blamed parents for not seeking care. In 2016 my perfectly healthy 2yo woke up with a low-grade fever and died hours later. Flu can kill fast.

This is absolutely HORRENDOUS.
On a hospital ward full of vulnerable elderly patients, some of whom have highly infectious airborne viruses, ventilation levels are quite clearly highly inadequate, with CO₂ levels soaring to well over 1,500ppm. Why does the NHS do NOTHING to prevent airborne transmission?!
