Emerg Doc in the GTA. I like motorcycles and hockey. Love my wife and kids. Bad knee and, possibly, a bad attitude. Opinions expressed are my own.

Matt Strauss’ statement is extremely dangerous. This sort of hyperbole does nothing other to make people reluctant to seek the care they need when they need it. We need our elected officials to do better than this. Especially those with medical training.

So, again and again I see accounts threatening hanging toward HCWs on this platform. Every time, X’s response is, “That’s cool. No violation found.” What a cesspool.

This is what happens when you have politicians ignoring experts. @fordnation and @SylviaJonesMPP said their “common sense approach” was better informed than front line workers. The result: death and suffering for those who cannot speak for themselves.

This should not be happening in a province with a functional public health system. Then again, we live in Ontario.

I love this pictorial! Especially, the part about IV antibiotics not being “stronger” than oral. People, including many MDs seem to believe that IV=stronger. I always say the strongest antibiotic is the correct antibiotic, whatever form that may take.

An executive order by Donald Trump would install political appointees at the apex of the scientific process, with a mandate to edit or discard science that did not meet the administration’s criteria and potentially discipline scientists, critics warn.

If it’s quicker than an EM physician’s 10 minute assessment, this should be groundbreaking. EM physicians’ clinical judgement outperform all current guidelines and tests. This impacts time-to-treatment, which is the ultimate goal.

Just read through the restoring gold standard science executive order. This country is absolutely cooked. Absolutely fucked. I can not believe we are going down this road. What a fucking horror show. Now we're going to have trump loyalist appointees, not scientist, deciding.
