This is you, Liam. A bitter old man, railing against the 'weak, feckless youth' from a position of security and affluence. It's a trope as old as humanity. St George's, 1985-1991. I understand what you're talking about. I also know it's BS. Today's young doctors deserve respect
@gillianthurston @DoctorsVoteUK The problem is doctors no longer have a vocation. Current residents work half the hours in training than I did and until I retired my time on call and in the hospital as a consultant was nearly double theirs. Striking is unethical and endangers patients and loses public support

Rather different CO2 levels, and hence air quality, on the @Qantas A220 and A321-XLR... @CO2RadicalAus @aranet

PHENOMENAL air quality on the new Qantas Airbus A220. Look at this CO2 - transiently and barely tops 800ppm. 90% occupancy. I've never seen anything like this. Things are improving, folks. Increasing awareness, public pressure. Every little bit helps. @aranet_home

🚨FAO: NHS Organisations Attempts to intimidate or coerce our representatives will be neither successful nor tolerated If I see this in London, all avenues of local escalation will be on the table, including disputes and collective action where necessary and members support it
An email with an invite to a meeting without coffee was an unexpected thing today. A complaint to the deanery about Twitter. No wonder so many doctors are anonymous now. Shall I just do the same?

A Jewish mother writes on Mumsnet about unacceptable antisemitic bullying at her child’s London school and how the headteacher was refusing to help. Then this happened 👇🏼

Dear Gordon, Thanks for the offer to discuss RCEM's stance on workforce substitution. I would be delighted to engage. Firstly, I think that RCEM is the best of all the Colleges. I am not a member, but I have sat on RCEM committees and had good relationships with most 1/
@pash22 @anaesthetic_spr @RCEMpresident @RCollEM @RCEMvp_Salwa I’m sorry you have such a poorly informed view of this College. I’ll be happy to meet with you. Just DM me. By the way are you one of our members?

When people tell you it's your 'tone', it's never your tone. It's the message.
'He has a point, but he's too blunt.' From the start, a key tactic of the gender identitarians has been linguistic prescription, and it's proved shockingly successful. Trans activists' shibboleths and euphemisms have been allowed to penetrate the upper echelons of our culture

Exactly this about the NHS - read the quoted tweet. All the NHS is is another way to deliver socialised medicine, as more or less every developed Western country offers to its people (except the US of course). It's not that special actually. Yet, it has attained such a cult
Last week I walked out of an NHS hospital because staff were so rude to me. I’d made a genuine mistake - I missed an ultrasound that had been paired with a clinic appointment. For context: I’m currently a patient at four hospitals across four different trusts, juggling multiple

Leaks are strategic. Think of this as a curated press release rather than a leaked email from FDA. VAERS generates hypothesis. It doesn’t prove causality. I agree with others that say that these agencies need to show their work for all of this. They haven’t done so for any of

Prasad is a medical community outcast, not because he is some special whistleblower, but because he learned how to make a fortune grifting off right wing COVID-19 and vaccine panic. Now, he’s Trump’s top vaccine regulator and he’s spreading lies that will hurt American kids.
NEW: In an email sent to staff this afternoon, CBER chief Vinay Prasad says the @US_FDA for the first time "will acknowledge that COVID-19 vaccines have killed American children," which he calls a "profound revelation."

I can't believe we're having to protest this shit. It's so head-breakingly stupid.
Paramedic can "work at an equivalent level to a doctor" with some "extra training" But, a doctor couldn't possibly be a paramedic This is the problem, everyone wants to compare themselves and work as a doctor but doesn't want to go to medical school Great tweet by Dr Laurenson

@Matt_W1985 @Cleverclog67596 @_BH_6582 @anaesthetic_spr This is the cognitive dissonance that underlies the conflict. On the one hand you can top up and do ED. On the other doctors can't top up and do paramedicine. It is a perverse situation where you can only see skill mixing as appropriate in one direction. And this likely
