Imagine awards show actually celebrating the art of making film, explaining why editing and sound mixing are important, honoring the legends of the past, not trying to pander to those who won't watch anyway... and maybe, just maybe with no host at all? Imagine :(

is one of the best 2023 international Oscar contenders I've seen yet. It starts as a relatively familiar story of a young girl growing up in a conservative state, but then it turns into breathtaking depiction of 1948 war between Palestinians and Israelis.
I finished Fred' and

enough. It's the excellently cast, best drama of the year so far, a must see for the junkies of modern US history and politics, but also a very personal tragedy of Martha Mitchell, portrayed by Julia Roberts in one of her essential performances 9/10
@PalmerReport
I agree filibuster has to go, but it's not exactly so simple. Even with Manchin and Sinema neutralized, still a lot of other Dems support carveouts on e.g. voting rights, but not abolishing filibuster altogether. a lot of work to change it

everybody calm down, he's not playing Doom lol. Probably some sort of cameo.
It's interesting if we're getting Doom solo project. Maybe some remains of Noah Hawley's script?

this reminds me how everyone was super excited that Adele "made" Spotify change their shuffle a little. I never fell for this. It was a publicity stunt for both.
And Spotify shuffle still sucks, people need to use third party apps to improve it.

10/10!
Pictured here with Irene Jacob.
There are probably many, strangely enough, I don't have ANY Twin Peaks screenshots in my big collection, including Fire Walk With Me - but this one from Mulholland Drive is quite gorgeous
@IndieWire
honestly, there are many great films this year, and sadly the number is limited. You just can't nominate everything. Also, "anonymous voter"? Pleeease

He'd likely not agree, but I think next to Lynch, Marty is not just my fave American director, but my fave "director's who's also occasionally an actor" (so not someone like Clint). He's just really good at it, I wish he agreed to do it mor

"Corbyn appeared on a call-in show on Press TV, an Iranian government television channel, several times between 2009 and 2012."
wow I had no idea. Always thought the guy was a sham and I felt uneasy seeing him celebrated on Glastonbury stage etc
Even when the actors appear briefly, they can make a great impression too – I’m thinking about people like Lily Rabe, Sheila Atim, Chukwudi Iwuji, Peter De Jersey, wonderful child actress named Mychal-Bella Bowman
@mychalbella
(remember the name!) and so many more.
And we've got a confirmation, thank you Mrs. Fetterman 🙂🙂 🙂
See, this right here is why I love Twitter and I really hope it can survive Elon and his stooges. It doesn't happen on any other platform, maybe Insta, but not often for me.

I feel tremendously offended by the idea of remaking the best comedy of all time...
but fuck it, let's go all the way. Bill Hader and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (obviously, her role is expanded in this version)

Twin Peaks The Return is the greatest television ever and it's flawless...
Saying this, I'd really love to watch more Cooper actually acting like Cooper ("is the coffee on?" is the most Cooper he ever got in TR and I lauged out LOUD then). But in Lynch & Frost we trust...
