this deserves much more thought and discussion for sure but one thing i think about often is how the most recent paradigm shifting rhythm moment in music was D’Angelo’s Voodoo. that approach to groove is already a quarter century old… = the same distance from 1990 back to 1965.
What if we’re actually at the tail end of music’s golden age, and this kind of creativity won’t come back for centuries?
