The first time I went to Seoul in 2017 Bong Joon Ho hosted my Q&A and took me on a epic night out in various boozy vinyl record bars. Frankly it’s outrageous he didn’t get an Oscar for that. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Not quite true! We wrote the scene and thought it would be funny to have a famous actress in the part but to never take off the mask. We had heard Cate Blanchett liked 'Shaun Of The Dead' so we asked her. She said yes, shot for a day and gave her fee to charity. An Aussie legend.
Cate Blanchett’s cameo in Hot Fuzz (2007) came about as she loved Shaun Of The Dead (2004) and asked Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg if she could be in their next picture. Fearing her level of fame may overshadow the film (and thinking it would be funny), they hid her behind a mask.
