@krisstraub
"Well the address said this was the right place"
"Nah, can't be. The photo on Google showed a house that was all blurry and shit, so its got to be a different house."
@AriDrennen
To TERFs, Intersex people are always male.
If you AFAB and have a vagina, but xy chromosomes and internal testicles, your a man.
If you are AMAB have a penis, but also ovaries, xx chromosomes, still a man.
Doesn't matter. Their "biological" definition changes as needed.
@IamDelBhoy
@KatyMontgomerie
@stillgray
Look, normally I don't give advice to bigots but... Using the dude who turned in other queers and thought he had a position of privilege when the Nazis only to be executed by his comrades for being gay actually works against your point.
@TransSalamander
Ugh its like... "We are talking about a hot button issue which makes us relevant and topical" but also "We don't have anything to say about it but that doesn't matter, because it's edgy!"
@kidthatcantdraw
@azpolitico22
@robinjection
I mean I expect that you would understand the causal relationship between the new laws that make it near impossible to get a specialist, but who cares about causality?
This is why I am so hostile to the Snyderverse. They don't want to see the Snyderverse back, they want all other movies to fail. This is why the review bomb and harass other directors.
Also they mislead people. 22m was Creed III's opening. Like, its first day.
@thesolarcoffee
I don't really want to defend the MCU but I feel like this joke has come up plenty of times in different iterations well before Sam Raimi.
Though JK Simmons has the perfect delivery.
@pozmyneghole1
This is a joke, right?
1. The MPAA ratings are not federal law, just industry self regulation.
2. There is no official "one fuck limit' on PG-13 movies, it's a rule of thumb writers use while writing scripts.
3. James Gunn had fuck all to do with this film.
Trans Protesters with signs asking that TERFs be beheaded sound horrible until you realize that TERFs right now are unironically quoting Adolf fucking Hitler.
@obtainedmage
@Nerdrotics
You really only hear this idiocy being repeated by 30 something man babies.
You go to the kids these characters were written for and they know damn well Miles Morales is Spider-Man.
@MySonHunter
Its great when you have a reactionary audience that will support you regardless of quality. As long as you say what they want to hear, you don't even have to worry about pesky things like performance, staging, cinematography, sound design, or anything else this movie half assed.
The backlash against Turning Red is transparently misogynistic and racist.
There is nothing inherently political about the film but the idea that a girl having her own life and interests and likes her body, however, is very subversive in a world that commodities women's bodies.

@AriDrennen
Did my own research because the source on this information wasn't posted, but the graph was created by an Anti Trans activist, not a doctor. So the categorizations come from an anti trans activist NOT A DOCTOR.
People are fucking fancamming Johnny Depp making witty remarks in court and not realizing that he's actually dodging questions.
This trial is so fucked.
You know, I hope allegations against Bill Murray aren't true, but remember how many of his "comedies" are about him being a creepy sex pest whose refusal to accept "no" is supposed to be endearing.
@ChrisJHLambert
@RealAlexMouse
Fucked up that people live and die by the rules as written in books on screenwriting that they will call anything that doesn't follow those rules bad writing whether it actually does or not.
@Aliceinwunderl3
Trans people will be disturbed by it, but not shocked.
Cis people will hopefully be shocked.
Because fuck we've been telling Cis People it's this bad for years and they've been shrugging it off as being over dramatic.
@TheBajaBust
@EoinHiggins_
The context being that people worry more about the words than the intent, which is different than just "Haha racial slur, homophobic remark, ect"
Whether you agree with his stance or not you have to acknowledge a key difference between this and punching down.
@RahulKohli13
I missed out on working Man of Steel, but all my friends who worked on the film have stories about hanging out with Henry Cavill and being huge nerds with him.
Sadly all my PA work has been second unit so i never really met anyone.
TERFs will just ask Trans People to be held responsible for every bad thing a trans person does while totally allowing people to quote Adolf Fucking Hitler at their rallies.
@estrowrite
@faceyouhate
Context is important for this one.
He bought a bulk set of vintage "muscle" magazines. There was no particular indicator of the age of the models, and while some were nude they were not pornographic. After it was discovered he cooperated with the investigation fully.
@HistoryMuppet
@alicecooper
Not only did they book Alice Cooper, they didn't go the obvious route of "He's actually a nice guy." No, he spends the entire episode trying to get the Muppets to sell their souls.
George Carlin would start a rant about cancel culture where he makes fun of people being too sensitive, but would turn it on its head and go after the bigots that they are reacting to with far more venom.
@jessiegender
Watching South Park in 2022 is like hanging out with a friend from college after 20 years and going "Wow, you are the exact same person you were then and the things that made you cool and funny now just make you seem kinda sad."
@FurFest
Think of how many transgender guests you have, and then how he destroyed the life of a transgirl at UWM by outting her and putting her in everyone's crosshairs.
We cannot have that there.
@EveHarmsWrites
I mean, it could easily mean multiple things. Or, in true Cronenberg fashion, he recognizes that there is applicable subtext that people latch on to and is more than willing to discuss that (as he did when people found AIDs parallels in "The Fly").
Me watching Captain Planet
At Seven: Nobody REALLY just wants to pollute the Earth because they are evil and they like polluting.
At 36: Wow it really do be like that sometimes.
@morenol_1990
@CosmonautMarcus
That's the intent, but like Pa Kent just stands still unaffected by the Tornado until it makes physical contact, making it hard for me to accept that Clark couldn't just walk up to him, grab him, and pretend to struggle a little bit.
Because that's how the scene is staged.
@judysquirrels
There is PLENTY of misogyny in Hollywood and in the Oscars, but Barbie getting nominated for most things instead of everything is not an example of that...
@FBN415
@BrendanDeneen
Mass destruction is something they try to contain when they can and when they don't it's a big deal.
Snyder films are inconsistent on the killing issue and seem to treat mass violence as an acceptable.
I'm not an MCU fan but they did this well.
Like your literally quoting Mein Kempf and using Hitler to back up your claims, you do not have the moral high ground here. Once you've decided you are on the side of Hitler, you NEVER have the moral high ground again.
@Joe_Brennan_
The mystery in Glass Onion is there to illustrate the central themes of the film itself. The solution isn't elusive. It's not supposed to be. It's a movie that asks us to question whether or not we should idolize wealthy "genius" entrepaneurs.
@_celia_bedelia_
I mean listen if I ever end up in a women's bathroom while this is happening I'm definitely going to do whatever I can to help but until that happens I'm just going to go there and pee.
@filsdepoyst
@_celia_bedelia_
I mean it makes sense... For all the good the suffragettes did (and they did a lot of good) many of them were well-off women who opposed Universal Suffrage. The distinction essentially meant they only wanted a slim minority of women to vote.
@cisfobe
Well, every single doctor and psychologist who has studied this has concluded "Yes, without a doubt, it is abuse and leads to severe developmental problems."
But I'm told that its not abuse by people who say "My parents spanked me and I turned out okay." So idk....
My best friend Crysal died by suicide growing up. Her parents were embarassed and ashamed of her attempts, and urged her to keep quiet. She didn't get the medical help she needed.
If she was empowered to make her own medical decisions, that could have saved her life.
My 12 year old son received this letter from our GP practice this morning.
Is there anyone else out there who’s 12 year old received anything like this before their 13th birthday?
I’m shocked. This is so sinister.
@Gingerhazing
Watching She-Ra while transitioning has helped me define myself as a woman. I'm sad to see it go, but excited to see how it ends.
I also got a She-Ra tattoo, to celebrate one year out of the closet!
@agustin_hiponia

So many people will defend the church because they've never seen beyond their corner of it.
I have no hostility to Progressive Catholicism. But the Church as an institution has done nothing to combat abuse.
@IndieWire
Curtis isn't some talentless Max Landis type who only got there because of Daddy. Sure her parentage got her in the door but she's constantly proved her talent.
Tbh I think she's taking something that really isn't about her very personally.
@DisneyTVANews
So the company responsible for changing copyright laws to maintain an stranglehold on numerous intellectual properties is making a film for kids that's essentially propaganda about enforcing Copyright protections, even ones that are far overreaching.
@GailSimone
It's brilliant. Probably one of the greatest movies of the last 20 years and I am not being Ironic.
Sure the characters are flat and the story isn't that great, but as far as telling a story visually, it's light years beyond anything anyone else is doing.
It's so weird that TERFs act like Daniel Radcliffe owes JK Rowling something.
Radcliffe is an actor. A great one. Who read for the part and blew the director away. She didn't give him his part. He earned it.
@scumbelievable
Somehow analog has a way of highlighting the artifice in filmmaking while also coming across as more "real." And my feeling wasn't that this was prepared for us, but rather we were watching a nightmare in progress.
@AgentXerro
@Cody_Morel
@DiscussingFilm
I mean making 5 or 3 k a week is different if you work 2, 3, or 6 months on a production. Also the majority of WGA writers don't have staff jobs anyway.
So yeah, by leaving out this info you are misleading people. But you know that.
If all Rian Johnson wants to do is make movies about a Gay Man sticking it wealthy as white folks while helping marginalized people I say we give him all the money in Hollywood.
Conservatives: Businesses should be allowed to freedom to serve whoever and sell whatever they wish.
Hudson Books: We don't want to stock Marjorie Taylor Greene's book.
Conservatives: HOW DARE A BUSINESS CHOOSE NOT TO SELL A PRODUCT THEY DO NOT WISH TO?
@AndreiSterescu
@meghaverma_art
Wasn't Christian Griepenkerl controversial for being too conservative in his approach to art?
Really does seem like the OP is transparently making shit up for the purpose of praising Adolf Hitler's paint by numbers.
@CaseyExplosion
I mean, Scream doesn't really get enough credit for being a seriously political horror film. Wes Craven was tired of the misogyny in horror movies, so he makes a send up of the conservative values in the genre tropes.
@morenol_1990
@CosmonautMarcus
Except if you stage it in a way where the audience doesn't believe the actual risk is real, you've done a bad job staging the scene.
Remember when Gargoyles came out, and the human protagonist was mixed black and indigenous? Maybe there was controversy, I don't remember it, but then again, I was a child.
But holy shit people would shit bricks over Elisa Maza today.
@KatyMontgomerie
We made robots out of construction paper in Kindergarten today. The regular teacher in the room told a boy to "Pick another color" after he said "Pink".
