@jessiegender Watching South Park in 2022 is like hanging out with a friend from college after 20 years and going "Wow, you are the exact same person you were then and the things that made you cool and funny now just make you seem kinda sad."

And of course, South Park dips into transphobic narratives of performing gender-affirming surgeries on children. Why am I not surprised... le sigh.

@jessiegender "Oh, wow, still listening to that racist comedy routine we downloaded off limewire? Oof. I figured we'd both grew out of that sorta thing."

@KaijuNellie @jessiegender "St. Elmo's Fire." I loved it when it came out. Watched it recently and couldn't get over how entitled and spoiled they all were.

@JCBourdier @jessiegender Not exactly what I was getting at, also, yeah, 100%. It's less about how it aged and more about how it hasn't changed. Like it should actively be better or worse than it was 20 years ago, showing a shift. But it hasn't, and its kinda sad.

@KaijuNellie @jessiegender The show has changed dramatically over the past 20 years. Low effort tweet.
