This confirms it; LTNs are simply a traffic relocation scheme. https://t.co/SMfW8ddFul LTNs increase vehicle idling & emissions, worsening air pollution on community roads.
The claim "LTNs reduce car use" was used by councils to justify concentrating traffic on community roads, generating hundreds of £millions in fines and increasing property prices on affluent high car ownership roads. TfL buried the study that showed this claim to be false. For

Dear Seb and Sadiq, Why is @Willnorman still saying cycling is getting safer. Even with your own data that is not true! The risk of a serious cyclist injury has risen since 2015.
When I was first elected as Mayor, TfL's cycleway network had 90km of routes. Now it’s more than 430km. And Londoners are cycling like never before, with 1.5 million bike trips every day 🚴♀️👏🏾

@LittleNinjaUK @jksmith34 @SocEnvJustice @visitcamberwell @ShimanoSteve @indieHackney @KatharinaH42 @ioisours @seanpaulday @TheFox89688362 Hackney has 70% of road space closed by LTNs. Congestion on the remaining (residential!) roads is now more congested than ever before the covid LTNs. Daily 7-8 hrs of idling traffic is the new norm. Residents breathing in more pollution for the benefit of the already better off.

London's Mayor has recently been tweeting excitedly about the record numbers cycling in London. But the fact is London's transport system is in crisis. Europe's most congested streets. Bus speeds at a record low. And no plan to deal with it. My blog:

Transport in London is in crisis. Much of it is down to a failing Mayor. Sadiq Khan has a number of targets to get Londoners walking, cycling and using public transport more. Most people in London …

Pleased to join this wonderful group of blind and disabled people on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, to demand an end to floating bus stops and direct access to their bus services without crossing a bike track. @Heidi_Labour @simonlightwood

The Russians started the war, and there is no other way to put it. The whole world is a witness. They came with aggression to destroy us. We stopped them. Europe helped, America helped. Russia failed to occupy Ukraine first and foremost because of the strength of the Ukrainian

If you want to understand why London’s once most iconic and important bus routes, the 38, is being curtailed at Holborn, £1billion is being spent on bus subsidy and there are 23% fewer journeys, then go take a look at the Balls Pond Road where the bus lane is now a bike track!
Transport for London Have Your Say: TfL is proposing changes to routes 19 and 38, including extending Route 19 to Victoria and rerouting Route 38 to run between Clapton Pond and Holborn. A new route 10 would also be introduced. Public feedback is open until 23 January 2026.

This is interesting but perhaps not surprising. People of all polical parties think governments should get tough in tackling death and injury on our roads.
#TalkAboutRoadDeath - the public prioritise road safety over quick journey times ✖️ Research from the @IPPR and @Moreincommon_ find strong public backing for a bold target to reduce KSIs and a willingness to make real changes to achieve it. ✖️ 56% support a national target to

Huge from the PM. Starmer accepts the Fingleton Review *and* pledges to extend it to other infrastructure: data centres, railways, tramways, towns, labs, and more. Massive, and a big shift from the Treasury's equivocation. Implementation will be a big battle, but we can win.
The BIGGEST change to nuclear regulation in the history of this country. Government was set to bottle it. YOU pushed for it, you tweeted, you shared videos, you signed letters and you didn't let up. Govt gave in. They accepted these RADICAL CHANGES. Now we hold them to it.

Ediz (@ediz1975 ) tells it as it is.
The route W4 that runs in and out of LTNs saw a significant dip in performance and and is a poor performing route post LTN. This is fact. Cycle lobby groups decided to harm children and poorer communities for personal Gain

.@willnorman doesn’t tell us that they are in fact taking bus lane out as part of this scheme and that they misinform decision makers using euphemisms like ‘challenging’ in the equality assessments instead of telling them blind people will be excluded from their bus services.

It's no surprise that the @OpenChiswickW4 account has such a consistently low engagement rate. After spending all his time targeting a handful of people, the lack of interaction speaks volumes. 😂 Isn't it great to have facts on your side? I look forward to the inevitable

Yesterday, when cycle lobbyists rejoiced at record levels of cycling in London, I tweeted they failed to look at the bigger picture. This blog expands on that. In particular they are failing to assess whether commuter cycling is hurting London's economy. https://t.co/pGMgfrNyyM
