In 2021, Islington had the highest number of London Fire Brigade delays in the last 10 years due to traffic calming measures. Meanwhile IslingtonBC keep telling us there has been no significant impact on response times due to LTNs.

This is odd. I thought business was booming on Stoke Newington Church Street thanks to the LTN road closures. Not for Nandos it seems.
Is the Church Street Nando's closing? The site at 139-141 Stoke Newington Church Street, currently home to Nando's, has been listed on the market three days ago. The property comprises 2,375 sq ft, with an annual rent of £40,000. https://t.co/1v0xGP7g5g

Liveable Neighbourhoods LTNs Active Neighbourhoods People Friendly Streets A new one to add to the Bullshit Bingo list of phrases for closing roads: "Place Strategy" Westminster plan to restrict through traffic in Pimlico, which in my mind was an old LTN https://t.co/YxYQEIUVJk

Rachel Reeves was on BBC breakfast just moments ago and had no idea that new cars don't require an MOT until they are 3 years old. This means the government don't seem to have thought through how they can enforce the pay-per-mile tax on new electric and hybrid cars. 🤦🤦🤦

Where do Labour find these lemons? Mete Coban "More than three quarters... so, 74%" "for the first time since records began, in London we are now breathing clean air" @TflTruth

The claim "LTNs reduce car use" was used by councils to justify concentrating traffic on community roads, generating hundreds of £millions in fines and increasing property prices on affluent high car ownership roads. TfL buried the study that showed this claim to be false. For

Will pedestrianising Oxford Street increase or decrease the need for these signs like this? Seen on Gilbert Street, less than 25 metres from London's world-famous premier shopping and leisure destination

6 potential candidates for Labour's deputy leader are all female, and after Harriet Harman said "it would have to be a woman". Am I the only one thinking "Why is this process openly discriminatory against men? and Why is that demeed to be acceptable?

"Delays of up to 27 min" So why don't open up the closed roads of LTNs to help alleviate the congestion instead of remaining intent on grinding London to a halt?

How to fudge traffic count data. An illustration by Islington Council Fancy putting one of the pneumatic tubes literally on the stop line of a traffic light! Nothing counted going <10km/h and if someone stops on the tube, vehicles in the opposite direction won't be counted either

I've been out of London for most of Aug. Returning, I see all the things I haven't missed: Rubbish left piled in the street, cyclists jumping red lights at every junction, multiple chuggers outside the tube station, and the very few police I see, can't be arsed to enforce the law

Yesterday I saw a shoplifter walk out of Sainsburys on Farringdon Rd. There was a police van stuck in traffic right outside. Sainsburys staff run out of the store and shout to the driver of police van that they just got robbed, pointing at the shoplifter. Police van drove off.

Hey @firstmile Why is Clerkenwell covered in your rubbish bags today? It's not the first time it's been like this either. @IslingtonBC

I just came accros this table of cyclist fatalities in London in 2024. Odd that we have so much anti-car rhetoric from cyclists, when only 1 out of the 10 deaths were caused by a moving car. Source: https://t.co/6QPuzk25K1
