Internationally revered political genius Morgan McSweeney is not being given the credit he deserves for this ground-breaking achievement.
New from @Ipsos_in_the_UK: Keir Starmer’s net satisfaction rating unchanged at -66. The worst rating for a PM in the history of Ipsos polling.

Thing is, they could have, because it's become the norm to allow people to comment anonymously. And one of several reasons this is a bad idea is that anonymous comments can't be verified. What, you're saying that the British press wouldn't do such a thing? The *British press*?
maybe every political journalist in the country just made up some quotes and attributed them to number ten sources as a joke

Ordered “David Miliband trying to coup Gordon Brown” off of Temu and I got Wes Streeting trying to coup Keir Starmer

Once you watch this, Starmer’s nightmare becomes a lot clearer. The people behind this government masterminded the ‘Liz Kendall 4.5% campaign’ in 2015. Imagine that campaign…running the country…. 15% at a GE is plausible.

I want to take a totally unearned lap. After 25 years as a Green Party activist and 84 years as Bernie Sanders' brother I celebrate the emergence of two young men, Zack Polanski and Zhoran Mamdani, who will be leaders in the battle for a new and better world. A day for optimism.
Huge congratulations to @ZohranKMamdani on his election as Mayor of New York City from all of us at the Green Party! 🎉💚

And for my birthday, here's the Liberal Democrat leader of a council doing a huge recruiting drive for the Green Party. Cheers, Gareth! 🎉 https://t.co/0qbagSvIYp

Every word of this. The Greens I know are decent, self effacing types who have a sense of humour The new members being attracted by Magic Grandson are the same snarling, vicious humourless zealots who worshipped in the Cult of Magic Grandpa

Didn't take @bphillipsonMP long to drop the working class hero family photographs and revert to type as a union-bashing right-winger now she isn't begging for the @uklabour deputy leadership votes of affiliated trade unionists any more.
What I find most disappointing about this article from @bphillipsonMP is how it portrays our union - a union representing over 500,000 teachers and support staff - as obstructionist. That’s simply wrong, and frankly, offensive. I’ve spent my whole career teaching white

Such a bad look: the shorter working week is clearly the future of work we need, it's already the reality of work for thousands of workers and now progressive governments are exploring it across the world. Why would Labour die on this hill?
The labour movement was born in the struggle to limit the working day. The Labour Party will die fighting for its extension.

The Party of Labour actively trying to make labour conditions worse
NEW // Labour has launched a crackdown on the four-day working week by rebuking the first council to have adopted it. Steve Reed has written to the leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council, which brought in a permanent four-day week in the summer, raising his concerns

Absolutely classic entry from Ken Rogoff here in the genre "everybody has been so unfair to me about my mistakes just because these affected them, and I have had to suffer enormously unfair consequences like being criticised"

A decade ago, a prominent analysis was falsely cast as a call for austerity. Our real offence was suggesting there might be a trade-off between debt and growth

That's why I gave up trying to persuade Neoclassicals, and now just try to expose them. The problem is that sane people can't believe that an insane idea would capture a discipline for so long. The best defence Neoclassicals have is that sane people can't believe they're insane
This profession is absolutely disgusting. You criticise the discipline, w/ the intention to help the econ to improve & the best econs can do is to attack your academic ability to read, write & research. The entire week I got this from, of course, white male economists. Jeez!

Progressive parties can beat Reform in a straight fight in working class communities. It just requires getting Starmer's right-wing Labour out of the way first.

Fantastic result for @Plaid_Cymru in Caerphilly! Labour is dead in the water in its former heartlands. This result shows that, rather than Labour being the only alternative to a Reform victory, they are instead the obstacle in the way of a progressive resurgence. Push them aside!

I knew @ZackPolanski would energise the party — but I honestly didn’t expect he would DOUBLE membership in a matter of weeks. It turns out, people are excited by the prospect of things getting better rather than worse.
