The state of policing in this country is appalling. And police officers can blame lack of funding if they wish, but they always manage to summon the necessary resources when itâs time to arrest some protestors.

I have seen no evidence in the last few years that the police work in the interests of the people. However I have seen plenty of evidence of police springing into action whenever the establishment or their forceâs reputation is under threat.

I liked my post because my car got broken into a few years ago and they stole my sunglasses, my rucksack including my laptop and a defunct bank card. I saw on the app they tried to pay for a McDonaldâs with the bank card so I suggested they check the ANPR. They basically said nah.

Officers are responding to a protest in support of Palestine Action in Parliament Square. The group is now proscribed and expressing support for them is a criminal offence. Arrests are being made. Further updates will be shared here.

Why did the media give Keir Starmer such an easy ride in the 2020 leadership contest and then again in the 2024 general election. He has cheated and lied his way to power, exactly the thing a functioning media could have prevented.
In two to three years time, when Starmer and his government are no doubt deeply unpopular, I hope we in the media will ask ourselves: "Why were we so supine during the long 2024 election; why didn't we hold Labour properly to account while we could, and ask more probing.
