So interview is done, I'm home and ready to share.
It wasn't a job interview.
It was an immigration interview to leave Canada.
I didn't want to leave, but this country has turned its back on its people.
I was approved. Will be gone within the next 5-10 days.
It's almost 04:30, and I'm leaving now for the 2 1/2 hour drive to get to a life changing interview 🤞🤞🤞🤞. Crazy that 17 months of applications, waiting, more applications, more waiting, and a medical exam all comes down to a 15 minute window of time.

For now staying pretty close. I live in Ottawa, moving to Watertown NY, 2 hours away. Cost of living is night and day. Already have a house rented which would easily cost double, if not more, than here in Ottawa.

Got my first paystub working in the US today. (NY state specifically). I have never been able to keep this much of my own money after taxes before. Combined with low sales tax, I can live comfortably on basically the same salary I had in Canada, where I struggled daily.

My interview was with US immigration. Also, my wife is American, so it is possible for me to leave.
This was never the intention. We had decided earlier in our relationship that she would come here.

My blood pressure had been an issue since I was 39 years old. Not high enough to warrant prescription pills, but very, very close. 4 months straight carnivore, passed my DOT exam last week with flying colors. Blood pressure near perfect. Heart disease my ass.
