3 years ago today I was running in Stanley Park when I suddenly lost consciousness. I woke up 4 days later post-op from a 4-vessel bypass. Sincerest thanks to the bystanders who performed CPR, the paramedics and the staff at St Paul’s Hospital for my second chance at life.

Unfortunately this tactic can work with children and pets. Please remind your kids never to approach them, and keep your pets leashed.

It immediately ran behind some trees, but immediately came back out and got a little closer to me, then ran back. This behaviour often means there is more than one and it is trying to lure you into a pack. (I have seen them do this when I am out running.)….

Thousands of Canadians died of COVID due to vaccine hesitancy, and CPC contributed to this throughout the pandemic. Now a CPC MP is gaslighting Canadians by claiming that it’s ’Trudeau’s fault’ that there is now a measles outbreak. This is beyond dangerous. #vaccineswork.

The many toxic replies to this post illustrate one of the reasons I came back to Parliament. @PierrePoilievre and @CPC_HQ actively encouraged anti-vaxxers with their support of the convoy. A government under this party would have been a disaster for public health in Canada.

A former director of the Children’s Defence Network (an anti-vaccine group) cited a study that doesn’t exist for a presentation to the Centres for Disease Control. Scientific disinformation costs lives. #vaccineswork.

This is disgraceful and inexcusable. A potentially serious and deadly disease that is completely preventable is running rampant. Officials are concerned that a polio outbreak is not far behind. Vaccines work. Please vaccinate yourselves and your children.

A very close friend of mine died of prostate cancer this weekend. I’m devastated, but grateful for the 40 years of friendship we shared. Tell your friends you love them. Tell them a lot. Make it weird.

Premier Smith stated the low uptake of the COVID vaccine in Alberta is because “it doesn’t work particularly well, if you want the truth”. When the Premier of a Province is fuelling vaccine hesitancy we are in a dangerous place.

Canada is not immune to this kind of politically-motivated violence. The 2022 Rideau Cottage gunman incident was clearly an assassination attempt against Prime Minister Trudeau, yet Canadian media dangerously minimized it.

There have been a number of replies to this post claiming the cause of our current measles outbreak is ‘unvaccinated immigrants’. The public health agency of Canada confirms that this is false. The vast majority of cases are Canadians who have not been vaccinated.

Measles was eliminated in Canada in 1998. Now, thanks to vaccine disinformation, we are seeing the highest rates in decades. 12 Albertans are now in ICU with complications of measles. This is a preventable tragedy. Vaccines work. Please get vaccinated.
