I am delighted to be the newly elected Labour MP for Wellingborough.
I am honoured that local people have placed their trust in me and the Labour Party. But I also know, from the thousands of conversations I have had during this campaign, how people want a fresh start.
Wellingborough parliamentary by-election, result:
LAB: 45.9% (+19.5)
CON: 24.6% (-37.6)
REF: 13.0% (+13.0)
LDEM: 4.7% (-3.1)
IND: 3.7% (+3.7)

I am appalled at the behaviour on display on the commons this evening. But I am proud to say in my first week I voted for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, international aid and the recognition of a Palestinian state.

Attended the cenotaph in Wellingborough earlier for the two-minute silence. I had a quiet moment after the ceremony to pay my respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe.

This past week, I've been out and about every day, meeting as many people as possible. If you see me, please stop and say 'hello'! A personal highlight was getting to take my friend's dog Hector out with me last weekend.

A maiden speech is where you pay tribute to your predecessor and give the house a flavour of your constituency, and what you may work towards.

I have one lent part time caseworker, then the the junior roles closed today. The senior caseworker is working their notice in their current role. I couldn't with good conscience take some one on for two weeks and for them not get paid if there is a general election called today.

Essentially the boundary reviews merged two constituencies into one big one ish, so two sitting labour MPs had to go for it. Ali a Keir Starmer backing lab first MP and Mick an SCG. It shows Wirral/Birkenhead area of Liverpool not such a big stronghold.
