@ok_post_guy It also makes me laugh that they are implying the British version is somehow healthier. Sorry, if you want to eat healthy foods, skip McDonald’s fries and make a salad with vegetables instead.

@agraybee One of the most toxic ideas of today is the theory that everything has an underlying cause that can be analyzed. The idea that something can just happen has gone out the window.

@howyougettheguy It’s been 5 years and I’m still confused by that lyric. For some reason I always picture a patient in a hospital going up to a loved one who was waiting for them by the vending machines and telling them they will be okay. But that has nothing to do with the rest of the song.

The only thing I would add to this is that journalists are ticked she can do all of this without them. I keep thinking of the NYT Magazine article “Taylor Swift Doesn’t Need This Headline”.
Taylor has become too big for the industry’s liking. They finally started to realize last year just how powerful she is and they don’t like it, it makes them uncomfortable. So ofc they will do everything in their power to minimize Taylor’s success, and those lists are just that.

@agraybee We accidentally raised a generation to think that being young and special are the most important things, so now they think their lives are over once they turn 26. It’s why they are shocked that Taylor Swift is “aging so well” when she’s… only 35? Which is not that old?.

@my_old_scarf I think some journalists are annoyed that they can’t get the public to stop liking her. Usually, the press picks one person to highlight for a while, then they move on to someone else. But with TS the public keeps choosing her. The press isn’t in control and it’s making them mad.
