Hace 10 años nos fuimos, ya tenía entendido q íbamos a pasarla mal allá, como la mayoría de los médicos.
Hice residencia y fellow. Ahora hace 2 años practico.
En un mes ganó más del doble q un médico argentino gana en un año. Y esa plata vale lo mismo el mes que viene.

Kim, as a plastic surgeon who performs a lot of breast surgery, you’re simplifying the matter.
Reconstructing a breast that has been removed is not as simple as “getting breasts implanted”.
Top surgery leaves large scars, insensate nipples, and destroys it inframammary fold

Cosa q se habla poco. Cuando uno se opera o cambia algo que le viene molestado (en términos estéticos), muchas veces produce un cambio muy positivo en la imagen propia EN GENERAL, y no solo esa parte del cuerpo.
Uno se siente menos acomplejado y muchos se “liberan”. Te felicito!

As much as I trust scientists to create a vaccine, I’d want to make sure there aren’t any strange side effects first.
That’s just me personally. Some ppl dive in head first, and that’s ok too.

For so many kids it’s just a phase. Let them grow up with the mental health support they need and re-evaluate as adults.
True gender dysphoria is very rare. Most kids grow out of that “phase”

It’s actually easier to reconstruct a breast after a mastectomy for precast cancer, than someone who has had top surgery.
In top surgery, you’re aiming to achieve a masculine physique, so you have to eliminate feminine features. It’s very difficult to recreate certain features

It’s more to protect us from blood and other bodily fluids than the patient. But there are actually studies that show that masks have no benefit for patient outcomes. We’re kind of at that point where we do it “because it’s always been done that way”.

I’ve been involved in MTF bottom surgery as a fellow. Let me tell you it is NOT a simple surgery. There are many things that can go wrong and it will never come close to an actual vagina.
People have unrealistic expectations about what plastic surgeons can do. It’s a fantasy.

Breasts shape/size can be reconstructed using a variety of techniques
What we can’t recreate is the actual breast gland and it’s function
Also, mastectomy usually results in numbness of the skin and nipple, occasionally chronic pain/discomfort.
It’s not as benign as they say.

I’m young and healthy. I had the 2 doses of Moderna.
First dose a mildly sore arm.
Second dose I felt a little tired and feverish for about 2 hours, 12 hs after my shot.
I know of no one who died from the vaccine. I know quite a few who died of COVID or has VERY SEVERE symptoms
