Economics is an easy target: policy makers (sort of) listen, pay is good (by academic standards) and some economists are fairly nasty. This is to thank the many who are not and work to improve the life of others. They don’t make a fuss but they are there, seek them out!

When I joined, seminars @LSEEcon @STICERD_LSE were 5-6.30. A few thought it wasn’t fair, most simply hadn’t noticed. All seminars now end by early pm. Things can be changed.

Conferences w/o childcare options and dept seminars that run past the daycare pickup time. How hard could it be to change these things?

Disclaimers: 1: @orianabandiera is my better half 2: I had a sneak preview of some of her slides: they are amazing 3: the main reason I want young people to watch is that econ, more than any other subject, needs to draw on a bright & diverse talent pool. @ShellyJLundberg (3/3)

A truly electrifying #LSECoase lecture where the great Philippe Aghion showed us how more credit to incumbents can reduce efficiency (hint: think of firm exit) Thanks Philippe! #whateconomistsreallydo
