The thing is, behind the camera, in parts big and small and even seeing him around town, Rob Reiner was a presence of such warmth...His scenes in The Bear, he brought so much humanity, its unthinkable he could end this way.

Rob Reiner coming off the bench after not doing any real acting for a ~decade plus and dropping that Wolf of Wall Street performance is all time stuff. Rest easy big dog. The world is a terrible place, shitty place

I can’t handle the truth that one of the greatest filmmakers to ever live is gone. We lost one of the few good men. RIP, Rob Reiner.

Rob Reiner a wonderful man to work with @TheSimpsons and It’s Garry Shandling’s show; the writers were always very happy when he’d be on…

With THE LAST JEDI, it’s absolutely a central theme of his filmography.

The visual depiction of memory as not a factual record of events but as fallible and warped by perspective is such a great part of the KNIVES OUT franchise, esp in the first film, in which who is sitting next to Harlan at his party differs according to who's recounting it

I am horrified and saddened at the tragic loss of one cinema’s greatest directors. I can’t even begin to list the films this guy made that impacted me throughout my life. We all know them. A legend. A true genius. Rest in peace, Rob Reiner 💔 https://t.co/cxQSqBBmpt

One of my all time artistic heroes. The master of class, elegance and heart, such an incredible range of classic films across so many genres. How many iconic scenes, quotable moments, award winning performances was he at the back of. And every one that worked with him loved him.

I was actually a big Diagnosis Murder fan as a kid. DVD could inject a lot of empathy and soul into procedural scripts, he could always find a moment to make the hairs on your neck stand up.

people posting photos of shirtless men are taking the assignment too literally imo (also, it's WINTER!). imo, the answer is a mohair-blend suit or a double-breasted suit with a denim shirt. or if you want something swanky, a black velvet jacket with flared jeans.

a driver just ran a red light and almost hit me in midtown. I looked up the license plate and this car has 70 school zone speeding violations in the past 6 months, including a single day with four tickets! it’s absolutely absurd that this driver is allowed to stay on our roads

Your must-read of today. An absolutely brilliant behind-the-scenes look at Ron Howard's "Grinch." This piece is so good it'll make you want to watch the movie again.

This is a bombshell, but it's also an infuriating example of burying the point. It's not until 4,400 words into a 9,000-word piece that we are told that the key stories in one of the most famous science nonfiction books of the 20th century are made up!

Bombshell: Oliver Sacks (a humane man & a fine essayist) made up many of the details in his famous case studies, deluding neuroscientists, psychologists, & general readers for decades. The man who mistook his wife for a hat? The autistic twins who generated multi-digit prime
