We've spoken to staff working in care homes in recent days who say they have turned off the tracing app because they can't afford to be traced as a covid contact. They will only get SSP if they have to self-isolate as they don't qualify for the £500 support.

RIP Geoffrey Palmer. I loved that man. The hang dog face that made misery hilarious. An institution in my childhood (Butterflies!) and ever since.

The council says it's picked up 800 people without symptoms who would have been missed without the tests. They could have spread Covid into households & communities. But, as one GP put it, if it's only the 'worried well' turning up, Liverpool won't 'get out of the mess it's in'.

Maybe I am a bit tired today but reading this brought tears. Not everything is about making loads of money it seems. There are good people out there. And these ones seem to have created a Covid vaccine. #covid #oxfordvaccine #science #humanity #oneworld

He died peacefully with him family beside him, after a short illness. He will be remembered by so many in the industry who knew him well & by all those others who may not know his name but remember his programmes that shone a spotlight into many of the dark corners of life RIP.
