I feel you. I put buttons/pins on my bag, but on their own they’re prone to falling off. So I superglue them on. I usually end up with at least 4 fingers glued together and bits of kitchen towel stuck to the rest of them. glue is finicky and gets everywhere! Bag looks great tho!

yeah, I'm in the midst of heart failure and they weighed me every morning in hospital and told me I have to do so at home. I looked at the doc like "really??" and he said "it's because we can see water retention trends. we don't care what you actually weigh, just how it changes"

I think it’s arbitrary in the sense that he is just flinging pardons about with wild abandon and no regard for due process. But they’re not entirely arbitrary, he’s picking the types of activities he’s pardoning in a quite focused way, i think.

that’s such a shame and so common. i used to volunteer at homeless shelters run by the interdenominational collab of churches. My dad was the “lead” priest and banned any form of coercion into religion from it. Someone literally got fired for trying to pray with/convert clients

I came into hospital with an exacerbation of heart failure on Thursday. They thought they’d fixed until Sunday night when I had a major fever spike. Turns out I’ve picked up a staph blood infection. Chances are I’ll still be here on Xmas day, I suspect. Endless IV antibiotics

medical update: as most know I was given a new medication, delivered thru iv infusion. The doc told me the prognosis was “9 months to a year” (and after that, a crapshoot.)
That was July 21 last year. So I’m now officially in the crapshoot stage of my terminal illness. Go me!

yep, my cat boobs was incredibly communicative, and when he died, his sister, who had theretofore been almost entirely silent, started being communicative too. I think that before he died, she knew she'd get the same result from him doing the work so just sat back and let him :)
