New polls from Gallup, YouGov, and out of Virginia show voters now trust Democrats more than Republicans to handle the economy. Nationally, Dems now have a 4-point margin on the issue — an 18-point shift away from Trump since 2023.

It’s fascinating to think about how one of Trump’s big selling points in 2015-2016 was that his personal wealth made him above corruption. Covering his campaign back then, I talked to *a lot* of voters who found this appealing. Hard to believe many of them still buy it.

Never looked at this chart before. UMich Consumer Sentiment among ages 18-34 vs overall Consumer Sentiment. When it's green, it means younger people are more optimistic than the the general public. In 30 years, we've never seen this sustained relative gloominess among the young.
