Galling that Rantzen uses ‘religious people’ as shorthand for ‘bigoted and wrong’. Religious people use their effort and resources- even when limited- to run schools, food banks & hospices. She uses her sizeable supplies of both to shout down the voices of the sick and the poor.

It is almost a certainty that the assisted suicide Bill will not become law. Those who sponsored the Bill should now stop wasting Parliament’s time and withdraw the Bill, to allow other important legislation the chance to be debated. There’s no point in continuing with it.

The Holyrood vote on Assisted Dying could still go either way but it's hard to shake the suspicion that the failure of the Leadbetter bill in London makes it a little less likely that the Scottish parliament will endorse accelerated dying.

The idea of a filibuster is (flimsy) pro-assisted dying propaganda designed to bully the Lords into voting for a dangerous bill. The claim shouldn’t be repeated without scrutiny 👇

GOOD NEWS: The government is not giving any more Parliamentary time to the 'Assisted Suicide' Bill in England and Wales, meaning it is likely to fall. If it does, good riddance to it. Murder by medic must not be legalised. https://t.co/0g885ycqAo

The Tory right is in a bind, here. They'd love to only go after halal slaughter, not kosher, but they know there's no coherent way of doing that, and they're not as shameless as Reform or Restore. So, they have to do both, thus alienating Jews who might otherwise be their allies.
