Dr Suzanne Kite, President of the Association for Palliative Medicine, says there’s a “strong consensus” that palliative care in England and Wales is underfunded and inadequate, and “this constrains choice at the end of life.” We should improve care, not enable suicide.

National Audit Office report says hospices in England hit by falling income after allowing for inflation and some have been cutting staff jobs and services. Hospice UK representing the sector says without more government funding there could be a wave of further cutbacks.
