Wow Gen Z'ers even need their mom and dad for political assassinations.
The suspect in the murder of Charlie Kirk confessed to his father that he was the shooter. His father told authorities and secured his son until they could arrive to pick him up— Sources tell @evanperez @HBRabinowitz @HolmesLybrand

Let's just leave this here as a reminder that there are those who truly think the lives of people who bike have no value. This is nothing short of demonic. And people like this guy are likely driving around threatening bicyclists for the fun of it
@amNewYork And nothing of value was lost.

Hey @andrewcuomo, are you aware that one-third of New Yorkers — about 1 million households — live in rent-stabilized units? (You could ask ChatGPT, which wrote your housing plan) What’s your plan to means-test all of them for their income? I’m sure it’s a great one. Also, it’s
Today, I am proud to announce that I will be proposing “Zohran’s law," a law that will keep the rich out of New York’s affordable housing. @ZohranKMamdani : you say freeze the rent. But for who? Rich people like you? Hardworking, working class New Yorkers are being pushed from

The kind of slaughter that is front page news except when the perpetrator drives a car
MASS CASUALTY INCIDENT: Truck plowed into a park, DRIVING THROUGH PEDESTRIANS, with multiple people stuck under the car at Jackson and Water Street in Manhattan. Four people went into cardiac arrest and are in life-threatening condition.

80% of New Yorkers take transit. Congestion Pricing will reduce emissions + pollution, improve air quality, and fund the subway system that the vast majority of New Yorkers rely on. You're killing it to placate wealthy suburbanites who drive. Don't pretend it's anything else.

To be clear, we have spent five years studying whether or not it is environmentally permissible to demolish a derelict football stadium surrounded by empty parking lots or whether for some reason it should just stay there forever.
Just In: D.C. can demolish RFK Stadium, the National Park Service said after an environmental review. The site has been considered for a new Commanders stadium.

It's not that transit is freedom, it's transit *with frequent service* that provides freedom: If we had missed the Red Line train we took earlier this Sunday afternoon in DC we would've only had to wait another 7 minutes for next one. Show up and go service is so liberating.

I was one of the skeptical when the city started transforming Broadway to de-emphasize cars. Over the years, it’s become clear that I was wrong. To see 40,000 experience such a moment is a reminder to be more open to dedicating public space to public use vs private vehicles.

I’m in the process of buying insurance on the ACA market for the first time in a while and it truly sucks. The fact that the last ambitious piece of social welfare legislation was such a cynical boondoggle is an underrated factor in why liberal and left politics are a disaster.
"In 2004, the average insured family of four paid $11,192 in health care costs; by 2022 that amount was $30,260. That increase in cost for a family of four is the price of a small car, every single year." @matthewstoller

Hot take: not a fan. Just design streets to limit the speed of a vehicle, not a big brother device.
California would become the first state to require new vehicles be equipped with speed governors — technology that limits how fast they can be driven — under legislation by San Francisco state Sen. Scott Wiener.

Could not agree more. Other thing is protest culture ignores local issues for nat’l ones. So people who should care more about transit, education are obsessed over international affairs
Protest culture is now just a platform for people of my level of education to scold other people for not being radical enough. If the protests took on other targets and had sustained orgs, maybe. OK troll me now...
