After spending $61 MILLION to try to deceive voters, #BigOil recently withdrew a referendum to repeal a CA law that protects neighborhoods from #toxicdrilling. We're proud to have served on the Health Professionals Working Group + mobilized #publichealth orgs on this campaign!
When Big Oil tried to overturn our health and safety protections with a deceitful ballot referendum, we organized, fought back, and beat them at their own game.

Public health folks: I know that we are not all experts on Israel & Palestine. But we ARE experts on what happens when water & electricity are shut off, when borders are closed, when food & medicine are unattainable. Speak on these things. This is why we study what we studied. 🇵🇸

Sandra Castañeda, an impacted leader and advocate, speaks out on @GavinNewsom's veto of the #HOMEact. "It's like a slap in the face...he commuted me! We’ve been rehabilitated, and then you want us to get deported? But the fight doesn’t stop here." ✊ https://t.co/6Hf8xSy3lJ

The HOME Act had aimed to align prison treatment of immigrants with recent criminal justice reforms focused on rehabilitation and reducing mass incarceration.

🌱 The East Palestine disaster serves as a stark reminder that environmental justice cannot be ignored in our fight for a sustainable future. Forthcoming toxic chemical rules can protect frontline communities or continue treating them as sacrifice zones. https://t.co/cTRMj0qqTj
