Public safety in California is on the rise. Last year, California had the second-lowest homicide rate since at least 1966, decreasing by nearly 12% overall since 2023. We're going to drive that progress forward up and down the state.

California’s homelessness growth rate last year was lower than 40 other states, including Texas and Florida. The work doesn’t stop here. With our new SAFE Task Force, we’re going to bring it down even further to ensure that everyone has a safe place to call home.

California is getting safer. Homicides down 20%.Robberies down 19%.All within this year. And we're deploying CHP officers to more regions across the state to keep this momentum going.

We’re launching a new task force to clear encampments, restore public spaces, and connect people with shelter and services. California is taking action by reducing unsheltered homelessness and outperforming the nation in slowing this crisis.

California is awarding $80M through the Jobs First Initiative to support 23,000+ jobs and drive sustainable economic growth across the state. We’re putting real dollars to work to ensure regions have the necessary tools to create good-paying jobs and strong industries.

That's why we're going to expand these successful efforts to San Diego, the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, the Central Valley, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. We need to do more to reduce roadway violence and criminal activity throughout the state — and we will continue to do more.

In 2024, I deployed @CHP_HQ to operate regional partnerships in Bakersfield, San Bernardino, and Oakland. As a result, crime is down — with 9,000+ arrests, nearly 5,800 stolen vehicle recoveries, and 400+ illegal gun seizures. We're going to hold the line on these strategies.
