An additional plea: museums are wonderful, they are a favorite of ours, and we visit often, but museums require a lot of supervision. I often feel anxiety that my children are bothering other patrons or might break something.
Please, I need a place where my kids can be animals.

Community. Centers. Cost. Money. They cost money! I know the title makes it sound like it will be free, but this is America we’re talking about. My city rec center has a family membership that is $300 a year for residents. Maybe that’s not a lot for y’all, but it’s a lot for us.

I love our local library! We have a lovely children’s librarian and we never miss the weekly storytime. It is one of the few places I feel like my kids are welcome sometimes, so it is really frustrating to hear people say that children shouldn’t be there.
