We’ve turned working- and middle-class neighbourhoods into enclaves for the rich, and we’ve done so in defence of their “character.” But the real character of those communities -the one created by Torontonians- is being cast aside for a completely superficial one.

Bruh I’m done with AirBnbs. Hotels are pretty much the same price, way more comfortable/less awkward, and don’t mess up a city’s housing market. Plus they have pools and breakfast.

"That are mostly empty" There are no downtown Toronto condos that are mostly empty. Anybody who actually lives here knows that. Some are mostly *renters,* which is where this lie comes from.

Do the people of Toronto know that they could literally just occupy these new condo towers that are mostly empty and demand that the province expropriate them? This is a possible thing that can be, and has been done.

@NoSleepNeeded1 @makemysoulhappy Bruh I don’t think you realize how bad it is out there for most women. Should be seeing this and thinking “dam, your average woman has to be wary of a handshake in broad daylight.”

I need to understand this better. It’s been like a decade of “throw shit on the wall and see what sticks” and nothing seems to have stuck. Is this not super costly? How have they not gone back to the fundamentals that *everyone* wants from this business?

Some on the left have their backs up because she used the phrase “cutting red tape,” but she’s talking about exclusionary zoning here, guys. She’s talking about efforts to dilute the investment value and bargaining position of landlords.

Olivia Chow talking about #MissingMiddle on @CP24 today: “I want to unleash the power of the homeowner. Say to them go build it because we need housing in this city” “Build up to 4 storeys. If you want to have 4 units, you can rent out 3 of them.” Ford-Chow Housing Alliance?✅

After finding that the overwhelming majority of Torontonians support multiplex legalization, City Council decided we needed ANOTHER year or so of consultation. The results? The overwhelming majority of Torontonians support multiplex legalization.

Scott, habibi... I want the Liberals to tie strings to this sort of transit funding as much as the next guy, but this is a bit off. If you're going to be mad at Trudeau for not *making* Ford do something, you should probably be more mad at Ford for...you know...not doing it.

The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension is a rapid transit project in the GTA, the epicenter of Canada's housing crisis. But Canadians won't get a single unit of housing on top of or around these new stations. Trudeau failed you again. 🧵 #cdnpoli

With the Queen streetcar diversion, suggesting that King West return to a time when it was faster to *walk* than use the streetcar is just plain stupid. @marksaunders_TO is comically out-of-touch and wholly unfit to be Mayor.

A reminder that Olivia Chow’s plan for government-built housing is only 30% affordable units, even with: - ‘Free’ land already owned the city - Waived taxes and fees - Special, low-interest loans from federal government - A public builder with no profit incentive

One thing is clear. Literally no-one asked for this. No-one was calling for a Subway to Ontario Place. No one was calling for a giant spa at Ontario Place or demanding that the Ontario Science Centre be demolished.

It's weird how common the people against CafeTO (ie. drivers) make their argument "who wants to eat right beside the road?" Like, *clearly* a lot of people. Or else there'd be no business case for it.
