If you saw the new high-speed rail announcement today and want to know if we're on track for a successful project, Paige Saunders has got the perfect video on it, featuring @RM_Transit (and a cameo from his baby!). We're aiming high. But is it too high? https://t.co/PTQJk3Uy7f

Insane that Paige Saunders predicted the whole Montreal Ottawa HSR thing YEARS ago. https://t.co/7xWOXY53qX

A new video from Paige Saunders on Canadian High Speed Rail landing on the day we announce the first phase from Ottawa to Montreal? This is amazing. https://t.co/dD0Qyro17u

This site had already been trending towards insanity, but the absolute lunatics in the comment section here and in my DM’s are the last straw

Small-scale retail will be allowed on select "community streets" downtown.

Let’s get platform doors on all train and metro stations nationwide as a Major Project…good for Canadian aluminum and steel, mental health, and efficiency of existing transit systems..
With the Major Projects Office, we’re making sure big projects get built faster so they can deliver results for Canadians – good-paying jobs and a stronger, more self-reliant economy.

Councillor Shelley Carroll says she gets a lot of calls wanting her to fight applications for cannabis store licenses, but, "I can't, in my database, find a single complaint about one once they are open." Perhaps there's a lesson there.

Increasing service is great, but busier subways require more safety infrastructure…@MayorOliviaChow and @ausmalik need to figure out how to fund and implement Platform Doors…call and encourage them to do it.
Today, @MayorOliviaChow, Deputy Mayor @ausmalik, and #TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali visited Osgoode Station and announced that starting this Sunday, the TTC is increasing service on its busiest subway line, Line 1 Yonge-University, as well as the 505 Dundas and 511 Bathurst streetcar

A TTC Line 2 extension west from Kipling with stops at Cloverdale and Sherway Gardens is very logical. It could be built mostly elevated to reduce costs, and would help spur density at two major malls.
A look at future development surrounding Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, where more than 8,400 residential units are planned including towers up to 41 storeys.

I shouldn’t read the comments, but it’s good to know that we have a government for the (sane) people! Who cares if a six-year-old gets driven over by a speeding motorist, people have places to go and donuts to eat!

The government of Ontario is choosing complaining drivers (including government ministers) over the safety of pedestrians and specifically children, not surprising but still disappointing that these are the leaders we’re left with. Read my latest article: https://t.co/SZbe4YI0mB

Can we please have an NDP leader that doesn't adopt Twitter style mega-hyperbole? Can digging a highway tunnel across Toronto be left as bad idea that we shouldn't do? Do we have to go beyond the truth and yell "impossible!" Theres a reasonable path here, why can't we take it?

Good reporting of course, and sad that telling the truth to the public still isn't just standard operating procedure, and yet . . .
Internal documents obtained by the NDP reveal Metrolinx covered up serious problems tunnelling under Highway 401 for the Scarborough Subway Extension, forcing highway lane closures & months of repairs that were not disclosed to the public https://t.co/Gc4LTja9oF

I was recently in a car driving around Toronto and something felt totally off, nobody was trying to aggressively pass me, and everyone was . . . Driving the speed limit? So curious why that is, obviously not the omnipresent speed cameras of course!

I wrote a long post about why we should stop subsidizing car factories and start subsidizing open technologies (less). Read it now: https://t.co/5NmrrO1xEa
