10 CCP teams and one EOC CCP support colleagues 24/7 in caring for critically ill & injured patients. Helping to lead the paramedic profession in critical care

Harsh and unfair. Dis-service to a number of professionals who worked exceptionally hard in extraordinary circumstances, to published guidance, and saved lives that night. BBC, see section 4 of NARU guidance. An apology is due to those crews and NWAS..
Congrats to Cohort 13 who signed off today after finishing a tough year as student-CCPs: PG Cert ✅ and extensive placement mentorship ✅ - now ready for solo practice around the Trust. Thanks to all those who have supported them too.
Congrats to Cohort 12 for qualifying as CCPs and receiving your epaulettes, now out on the road for sign-off period. Lots of hard work, learning and enthusiasm from the past 2 weeks; now to put it into practice to care for our patients.
Well done to Brad, Laini, Liz, Simon and Kieren, our first CCP cohort to graduate with a full MSc in Healthcare Practice (Prehospital Critical Care) from
@StGeorgesUni

@dr_stepht
@dbootland
Today sees the start of ‘CCP Thursday’ - each Thursday
@SECAmb_CCP
s will be using some of their clinical governance time to support their local
@SECAmbulance
Ops staff. This will be in a variety of ways - clinical supervision, CPD, skills refreshers, debriefs, investigations etc
A terribly sad and tragic start to the morning in Dover. Our colleagues in
@RNLI
and
@HMCoastguard
provided outstanding rescue operations and clinical care in difficult conditions; their professionalism and dedication to save lives regardless of nationality is humbling and
Thank you to all the team
@airambulancekss
Docs / Paras / Dispatchers / Ops Support for hosting an excellent (and challenging) day! Good luck to all the candidates, inspiring to see the talented clinicians we have out there 🚑🚁👊
Tonight the CCP team & wider Trust said a big thank you to retiring Ops Manager Mark Lilley for 35yrs hard graft in the Ambulance Service; Paramedic, Tutor, Driver trainer, HEMS, CCP & Boss; done it all with a smile and inspired & led a new generation of Paramedics. Legend!
Another great day of learning on Advanced Resus Module at
@sgulparamedics
for some of the team - all things Airway; 5 Consultant Anaesthetists teaching Paediatric airway tips, VL/Fiberoptic, Tracheostomy management, FONA, SALAD and more. Also great to work
A pleasure to welcome
@AmandaPritchard
@NHSEngland
to the Critical Care desk yesterday! (A chair was offered!) As well as dispatching our CCPs, it provides remote advice across our workforce so no clinician feels too alone when faced with a challenging incident.
@SECAmbulance
Congratulations to those that will be joining the CCP journey in the future following the recent assessment process. For those that were unsuccessful don’t give up. Come back next time stronger and more focused than ever
Great paper just out from our colleagues at
@airambulancekss
on dispatch to Silver Trauma: lovely to see more mention of the Ambulance and CCP roles alongside HEMS in caring for these patients, thanks 🙏
#teamwork
West Team 1
@SECAmbHart
facilitating training for our new CCPs on their Major Incident / hazardous environments day; great work - thanks for realistic & safe moulage!
As
#InternationalControlRoomWeek
enters its last day we’d like to say thanks to
#UnsungHeroes
for their 13hr shift overnight whilst the clocks went back.CCPs on the Critical Care Desk provided specialist tasking & advice alongside other EOC colleagues, time for well earned sleep!
Some of our Kent CCPs had the pleasure to train with
@kentfirerescue
to refresh RTC extrication skills last week - awareness of environmental safety / space / noise / timings here will increase bandwidth at scene. Thanks team!
Many congratulations to Dr Paul Ransom - very well deserved. He has worked so closely and passionately with the CCPs and
@SECAmbulance
over the years, to the undoubted benefit of all us clinicians and our patients.
We are fortunate (and proud) to have clinicians of this calibre in the team, taking their skills into the DMS as well as bringing back valuable lessons and experiences into the NHS. 👊

We are forever thankful for the support Fiona has given to the CCP Programme over the years but we are grateful that we are still going to benefit from her wisdom moving forwards
Today we say farewell to Dr Fionna Moore, as she steps down from her Medical Director role.
We're pleased that she'll be staying with SECAmb in a different role but is hard at it until the end, in a Board session!
Thank you, Fionna 💚
Thanks to everyone
@SECAmbulance
who was part of the CCP assessment process over the weekend for giving up your free time. Also thanks to the candidates for your efforts. Task of whittling down begins...

@SECAmbulance
for all their hard work in developing specialist practice and optimising care for our patients.
@CaroMuCh1
This is great news for both patients and Paramedics as a whole. Still lots of work to be done but credit must go to those who have supported the profession to get this crucial important step. A bright future ahead!
1/2 We’re very lucky to have (and really value the input of) experts in their field who share their time providing training and guidance to our CCPs, and inspire the shared goal of improving patient outcome. Last week our brilliant Consultant Midwife

Thank you for your kind words. We as a group don’t underestimate the support that you give us that enables us to undertake interventions that make a real difference to patient care. Indeed here’s to 2018 and pushing the advancement further.
Made it to the office for a very quick drink (of coffee) and found a lovely suprise (needed today).
Thanks to all of the
@SECAmb_CCP

Its a great pleasure to be able to support you in all of the great work that the programme has achieved in the last few years.
Here's to 2018
Excellent few days (as usual!) at

, lots of learning, insight into other services, inspiration to improve care & systems, as well as catch up with friends who’ve helped shaped the programme 👍
@LawrenceDunhill
In SECAmb we have 24/7 telephone advice from CCPs / PPs & a ‘Top Cover’ Doctor (Consultant from ED or Anaesthetics). They support crews and give advice mainly on Acute care, decisions around stopping Resus, trauma triage, EOLC etc. invaluable wisdom and support.
Congratulations to our very own

Pre-arrival: excellent bit of work a few years ago by some good Docs here: . For relationship; mutual respect, understanding of skills and capabilities, joint training, and provision of ride outs by both HEMS and on Ambulances.
@jbrannan23
“Pocket bougie” = packaged semi-rolled up, doesn’t distort when out of bag. We carry both (moved to a L 70cm from a 60cm one), the normal bougie does have to have a fold to fit in the bag, but not much distortion.
Many crucial factors and influencers during this time but SRV based model crucial in enabling an agile system that is responsive to patient, staff and new therapies.(2/2)
Crews have attended a Cardiac Arrest this evening. ROSC gained,

Agree - both Specialist Paramedics (CCPs and PPs) here in SECAmb provide EOLC support with drug intervention and decision making, supported by two leads inc.

alongside and share experiences with colleagues from

APPs and HEMS Paras from

@AaronTuNZ
Interesting! Good to get training time in 👍 Is DSD part of a trial or as standard practice? And is it part of a wider refractory VF strategy?
shows the very best of human decency and compassion. On behalf of the Ambulance crews,
@SECAmbHart
and the CCPs, thank you. Get a warm brew and a good days sleep. x
