Thanks to his personal locator beacon, a man was rescued from a solo voyage after falling and breaking bones in 13 places. The signal was picked up by HM Coastguard who then deployed the @RNLI to assist. A reminder to always carry a beacon and maintain your vessel correctly.

Research from the RNLI and Bangor University has found that 40% of people do not have a basic understanding of tides. Tides change twice a day in the UK, so always check the tide times before heading out. If you get into trouble, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
