🚨URGENT: It's a race against time.
We can give more loved ones the best chance of survival. But only if we buy our air ambulance now. More time in the air means more lives saved. For family. For friends. Help us buy it for life.

Our crews can perform surgery at the roadside, care for critically ill and injured patients in the sky, and land helicopters in the most challenging locations.
But finishing that breakfast… That’s a step too far…🤢
Today, like every day, we remember Graham, Mark and Tony who tragically lost their lives 22 years ago, in service of our charity. They are forever in our hearts.

At the end of September, and at just 23 weeks pregnant, Sam suffered a major cardiac arrest and was flown to King’s College Hospital.
Thankfully that day Dr Eyston (pictured) and the crew were able to save two lives, and 10 weeks later baby Jack was welcomed into the world.
INTRODUCING: G-KSSC
We now fly 2 state of the art AW169 aircraft ensuring we can reach our patients in less time when every second counts.

Congratulations to the four new KSS doctors who have completed their sign off process!
They all proved their knowledge of the Standard Operation Procedures, and the wider organisation, with a viva, a moulage and observation when out on calls.
Well done! 👏
Today we’re remembering Graham, Mark and Tony, three incredible men who lost their lives in a helicopter accident while serving with the charity 25 years ago. Our thoughts are with their families, especially today.
We are delighted to announce we have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission ⭐
We are the first Air Ambulance in the country to receive the highest attainable rating in all five areas; Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.

On this day in 2013, we became the UK's first 24-hour Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. This has made an amazing difference to our patients, last year alone we attended 425 missions at night.
Our Executive Director of Service Delivery, Leigh Curtis, has been awarded an MBE by Her Majesty The Queen in the 2021 Birthday Honours.
Leigh’s contribution to the field of pre-hospital emergency medicine, and dedication to patient care is exemplary.

What a fantastic day it has been for team KSS. Celebrating our 30th anniversary with a Royal visit from Princess Anne this morning❤️
Thank you to everyone who was involved in a truly special day.
We want to sincerely thank the ambulance crews, fire brigades, police officers, NHS hospital staff, RNLI volunteers, Coastguards, and Search and Rescue teams for your dedication. We are

and we've got through the hardest year in our careers together!

☀️ Did you know that we have provided a 24hr service since 2013? ⏰
We were the first 24 hour Air Ambulance Service in the UK, and since introducing our night-capable aircrafts we have attended thousands of missions at night. 🚁🌛
2019 has been quite a year! We raised more money than in any previous year which has allowed us to undertake more missions & treat & care for more patients than ever before
Thank you all for your support, we wish you all a happy, healthy & successful New Year
#happynewyear2020
“We went to fuel the car tonight at the Shell Garage in Godstone, and a really lovely guy insisted he buy us both a coffee and a chocolate bar! Definitely made a great start to our night shift and put a smile on our faces!”
Thank you to the kind person who treated our crew!
How it started... How it's going.....
30 years of providing life-saving care, which is all thanks to your incredible dedication and generosity. Thank you🚁💙
🌸 Today marks the
#SpringEquinox
! 🌸
We'll have approximately 12 hours of both daylight and darkness!
☀️ Welcoming the warmer weather and longer days, we feel energised and optimistic, especially after the winter we've just faced together. 🌈
It's very rare for both our helicopters to be called out on the same job, in this case we flew out extra blood to our patient
We started carrying blood on board to perform transfusions at the scene of an accident or medical emergency in 2013
Our History:
Our pilot did a great job of landing on tracks to reduce the number of damaged crops - though you can't tell from this angle!
Our pilots are often challenged to land in difficult locations, but it's so important to make sure we get to our patients as quick as possible.
Keep your eyes on the skies - Santa isn't the only one dressed in red flying tonight!
Just like every other day, our life-saving HEMS crews will be on duty, ready to respond should the need arise.
Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
As we approach our 30th birthday we're proud of the achievements & the care we have provided to over 30,000 patients
We also remember the challenges we have overcome & KSS family members Graham Budden, Mark Darby and Tony Richardson, who dedicated their lives to saving others
Since 2013 we've been able to attend to patients during the hours of darkness. We're incredibly proud to be the only organisation in the UK currently operating a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Keep us flying high:
A big thank you to
@MTWnhs
who have kindly offered access to the COVID-19 vaccination for our Service Delivery staff.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with our NHS colleagues in the fight against Coronavirus.
It has been a poignant day as we honoured the lives of Graham, Mark and Tony, with our communities coming together to remember their commitment to our charity and to caring for others. Their legacy lives on in all that we do to save lives every day.
In 2013 we became the first 24 hour HEMS service in the UK🚁
We operate a 24 hour emergency medical service to help our patients whenever the call comes.
We're absolutely delighted for HEMS Paramedic,
@CraiggieP
& his wife, Jemima who welcomed baby Noah into the world last week. Noah visited our Redhill air base and even got to sit in his dad's seat on board the aircraft!
Congratulations and best wishes from us all!
Last week our crew were very busy, attending 52 missions.
Thanks to our Rapid Response Vehicles we were able to attend more incidents than would be possible with just our helicopters due to the wintery weather conditions.
A huge thank you to our dispatchers, doctors, duty managers, paramedics, and pilots that are sacrificing their Easter Sunday with family to be on base, prepared to save lives ❤
We're grateful to have dedicated team members providing emergency pre-hospital care 365 days a year!

the kids are in bed,
dreaming of jolly Santa, in his big red sled.
Meanwhile in Redhill our crew members are there,
ready to deliver their life-saving care.
Over the castles, cliffs & downs they flew,
helping people, thanks to supporters like you.
We’re carrying out some research testing the use of live video streaming from 999 callers’ smartphones to understand if it helps the decision making as to which emergency medical resources are needed in trauma incidents. 1/4
Today marks the 6th Anniversary of our 24 hour service 🚁
We were the first night flying Air Ambulance in the country, and we have seen the huge difference it makes to our patients
No matter what time, day or night, we will be there if you need us
At the scene, our helicopters provide us with the means to deliver an advanced level of treatment and the ability to transfer patients to a hospital where they can be given the best available care for their condition.

We sometimes help other air ambulances in neighboring counties if all their crews are out - & they do the same for us! It's called Mutual Aid 🤝

We are so proud to be operating with an all-female crew today👏👏
Today we're celebrating all the amazing women who work extremely hard every day for Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, thank you.

🚨 Last week our crews were called to attend 70 missions 🚨
This included seven missions during the night and two where patients required blood products at the scene.
Did you know that we introduced our 24hr service and blood on board back in 2013?
Around 28 times per month we fly critically ill or injured patients to
@KingsCollegeNHS
where the incredible NHS staff continue their treatment.
Surgeon,
@duncanbew
took this picture of our AW169 on the helipad on a beautiful May afternoon.
None of us ever know when we, our family, our friends or our community may need this vital service.
Without the dedication and loyalty from our fantastic supporters, we couldn't continue to provide this, so thank you❤️
Flying over the South East means you get to see some great views! 🏰

We are saddened to hear about the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He will be remembered for his many philanthropic achievements during his royal career. Our thoughts and prayers are with The Royal Family at this sorrowful time. RIP.

We’re delighted to have won the Large Charity award at this evening’s
@KentAwards
. This is wonderful recognition for the hard work of the whole of Team KSS, including our volunteers and supporters over the last 18 months in maintaining our life-saving service.

☎ Last week we were called to attend 62 missions 🚨
🚁 37.1% of these missions were Road Traffic Collision related. Please take care while driving this weekend 💙
In 2017, we proudly became one of the first air ambulance services to operate the new AW169 helicopter😮
The higher speed and enhanced fuel performance offered by the AW169 increases the distances we're able to cover and reduces the time it takes to get patients to hospital🚁
Our sincerest thanks to
@SECAmbulance
as they have kindly offered a route to the COVID-19 vaccination to our Service Delivery staff.
We are incredibly grateful to work alongside this amazing service and our NHS colleagues in the fight against Coronavirus.
Please join us in commemorating the key workers who lost their lives in the coronavirus pandemic with a one minute silence today at 11am.
#StayAtHomeSaveLives
The service is now equipped with two AW 169 helicopters, providing more cabin space, an extra 400kg (approximately) of available lift, and greater endurance to reduce reliance on fuel stops - a vital factor in night operations.
This Boxing Day, we want to take a moment to thank those who have been working and continue to work to keep our communities safe❤️
Your dedication means more lives can be saved.
We are so grateful to our supporters that have made it possible to continue our life-saving work amidst Covid-19.
To all our fantastic colleagues in
@NHSsoutheast
&
@SECAmbulance
who are working extremely hard through this challenging time, team KSS thank you.

It's a privilege to work alongside the exceptionally talented and dedicated emergency services across the South East. Massive respect to the emergency services up and down the country whose bravery keeps us all safe, every single day.
