The first thing Aerith does is lie. She has Cloud fight a Turk and when he asks why she knows him, she lies, twice. She also knows how he’s connected to Zach and yet keeps that to herself.

Honestly, seems Cloti is canon. They have an hour’s worth of moments and a kiss. Clerith does not. Clerith gets a date that ends with Aerith understanding where she stands with Cloud. It was always meant to be this way since Zach is here, doing God knows what.

For Tifa, it’s to protect him, she’s the one that keeps him from becoming just like the robes, which is what he basically was until she found him.
She’s the one that helps him overcome this, and is brought back to his real self, something Aerith could never do.

Forward doesn’t work if back is full of holes. And Cloud’s past is a mess. So no, sorry, he isn’t “moving on” from Tifa, Rebirth made that clear.

I’d say Cloud and Tifa work really well. Both stagger, Tifa can raise the damage, Cloud deals it. Red is a wild card, good at crowds. Barrett is good with ranged attacks. Yuffie’s elemental skills good for weaknesses. But Holy hell Aerith sucks.

This is completely incorrect. Zero relationship with anyone (which is difficult) means you are alone in chapter 8. One needs to be higher than the other for it to work. The fact that the alone possibility exists at all means what you say is incorrect.
