The more you try to force bad takes into reality, the greater the need for clarification becomes. The need was so great during disc 1 that they accelerated Cloud & Tifa's relationship, had them almost kiss, & let them kiss. Let that sink in as we approach disc 2 & the ACC era.

The Lifestream scene in FF7 OG still hits me the hardest. It changed everything and made me love Cloud, Tifa, and the entire story. The Remake better do it justice, because itโs just you know /l mean/ the scene is profoundly moving, rich with emotion, and filled with revelations

Tifa never wanted or needed Cloud to be special. In Traces of Two Pasts the promise at the water tower was a โspur of the momentโ occurrence. It was Cloudโs declaration of joining Soldier that informed her that he WAS just an โnormal boyโ and she fell in love with him. And
If anything, it's Tifa who wanted Cloud to act like her ideal man while he isn't. Tifa ideal man is more like Zack who is assertive and able to lead her. It shows during her date scene where she wanted Cloud to ride the gondola first and lead her.
