I went to church a lot growing up and have talked (and argued) with a lot of Christians and the more I learn about how they think, the harder it is not to notice how they use religion as nothing more than a post hoc justification for their pre-existing (usually harmful) beliefs.
Bible purchases, app downloads, song streams. But you never see church attendance rise, even though regular congregation with Believers was commanded by God before the Bible existed. Converts aren’t interested in God’s word beyond its use as a moral framework to justify bigotry
