We congratulate @lisanandy on continuing as @DCMS Secretary of State but hope this will provide impetus to urgently address the deeply flawed and unfair decision around charity lottery limits - which Ministers' acknowledge would deliver millions extra for British charities
Delighted to have been asked by the Prime Minister to continue to serve as the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport @DCMS.

Awful from @DCMS today. A failure to put the needs of the most vulnerable first and actively blocking the wishes of many of Britain's biggest charities. People’s Postcode Lottery can still grow, but awards will now be dictated by legislation, not charitable need 👎
Despite clear evidence from their own report, the Government has refused to lift the cap on charity lotteries, a change that could unlock millions in extra funding for good causes. You can read more about it here:

Fantastic coverage on @BelfastLive highlighting how a change to lottery legislation could unlock millions of pounds for the charity sector in Northern Ireland. https://t.co/6FIh7ISCLT

Current laws mean that charities in Northern Ireland are missing out on millions of funding from the likes of the People's Postcode Lottery

Last Friday, I had the Second Reading of my Private Member's Bill to lift the cap on the number of lottery tickets society lotteries can sell to fundraise for charity. You can read more about the Bill and how the debate went here:

Many thanks to @JoePJRobertson for his & @Conservatives strong support for @wendychambLD's Private Members Bill seeking to remove the charity lottery sales limits and thus boost funding to our supported charities.
The Government should look at how it can better support charities, especially considering it is taking an estimated £1.4bn from them with their NICs increase. The aims behind @wendychambLD's PMB are sound. @StuartAndrew @PostcodeLottery @NCVO @CharityTimes @ThirdSector

Thank you @wendychambLD for supporting this vital change that could release more funds for charity
Today I had the Second Reading of my Private Member's Bill to lift the cap on the number of charity lottery tickets that can be sold. At the beginning of the debate, I set out what legislative changes my Bill seeks to make.

...Guide Dogs have received more than £9 million of vital funding from People’s Postcode Lottery, yet with increasing need for our work it makes no sense for future support to be capped.” (5/5)
