To people with no background in law enforcement, it may seem like Kash Patel’s FBI is fucking up every single high profile case that comes their way. In reality, criminals fear Kash so much that only the most skilled ones are now committing crimes, thus skewing perceptions

Using the Dow as your "reference price"
In the lead up to the Great Financial Crisis, the Dow peaked at ~$14,000. I was on Wall St. and that's always been my reference price. $50k Dow Jones has serious Weimar Germany vibes. The Dow companies are not getting more valuable, the dollar is on a path toward hyperinflation.

If the Jones Act protects US shipbuilding capacity, why is US shipbuilding capacity at record and unacceptable lows?
Unpopular take: The Jones Act protects US Shipbuilding Capacity, which is at record AND unacceptable lows. We need shipbuilding capacity not just for warships but ferries and freighters. That said, cutting Puerto Rico a break is also fair.

Tillis on the Senate floor just now: "I want to reaffirm what I said very directly [last month.] ... I will not allow *any* board member for the Federal Reserve to go through the Banking committee, for chair or replacement of expired terms, until this matter is settled."
Sen. Thom Tillis continued to tell reporters today that the Justice Department must end its criminal inquiry into Powell before he ends his blockade of future Fed nominees. More from @BrendanPedersen: https://t.co/8R8jzL3IxO

It’s an insane level of cope to think that years from now we won’t have the ability to quickly and easily smooth out the errors and inconsistencies within what AI generates. It’ll still be a project with human input to generate content, but will be accessible to far more people.

Part of this is also that more artistic people are used to picking apart human creations and do the same with AI. But the masses, especially when it comes to short form video, do not care. We are seeing much lower quality slop go viral all the time.

There are still people who reply with “um this looks bad actually did you notice all the minor issues with it,” who aren’t amazed at the trajectory of AI videos. I don’t understand that. This is exponentially better than what we had in late 2022, less than 4 years ago.
We are genuinely cooked. I’m one of the most up-to-date people in on planet Earth when it comes to AI. But I will admit I was sort of mindlessly scrolling and I came across this video and I didn’t even think it was AI tell I realized this never happened in breaking bad.
