The immigration system is a civil system, not a criminal one. But this administration isn’t treating it that way, and they’re militarizing our communities and terrorizing people of all statuses in the process.

We are one month into the shutdown, and we are seeing delays, ground stops, and overall turmoil at airports across the country. Republicans must open the government to ensure safety and to get air traffic controllers and other federal workers their paychecks.

My shadow hearings are how we can conduct oversight on Trump’s horrifying immigration actions. We can and must continue shining a light on this lawlessness.

Today marks a full month of the Republican shutdown. It’s time for them to end their vacation and get back to work for the American people.

Child poverty has tripled since 2021. In America, a shocking 1 in 8 children live in poverty. And as Trump withholds SNAP funding, even more kids will go hungry. It does not have to be this way.
