đŁď¸âIt's a mixed judgment... the court didnât say it was unlawful to allow a male doctor into womenâs changing rooms but it said that when she complained the hospital should have done something about itâ @MForstater on @GBNEWS about #SandiePeggie

Here is the finding in the Peggie judgment that gender identity beliefs are protected in the Equality Act. This wasnât in the List of Issues and no evidence was led on it. Surprising to see a Tribunal establish a new protected characteristic like that. Seems appealable.

A woman asked NHS Fife for privacy in a female changing room. She endured two years of harassment instead. This ruling delivers only partial justice and still leaves a dangerous message; women must object before their rights and dignity are respected. That is not clarity. It is

Peggie: Systemic, asymmetric social inequality between women and men: this is the inescapable rationale for the recognition of sex as a protected characteristic in #humanrights instruments from UDHR to ECHR. The ET, imo, appears to have failed utterly to grasp this basic insight.

There are some extraordinary things in the Sandie Peggie judgment that ignore reality and women's rights and will surely not stand up to appeal. https://t.co/6gjAlPlTtT

From the outset I knew what had happened to Sandie was wrong. Delighted the tribunal agreed. My full statement below âI welcome the news that Sandie Peggie has won her employment tribunal against NHS Fife. From the outset, it was clear to me that their behaviour towards

There is a "burn the witch" thing going on here. Women who complain too loudly are accused of harassing the men in women's spaces. Women who complain to quietly are told there was never a problem

Time for the Health and Safety Executive to step up and answer the question is a women's toilet or changing room for A) women or B) women and some men (with the protected characteristic of gender reassignment) @H_S_E
It is now urgent that the @H_S_E steps up and provides clear guidance to employers on workplace toilets and changing rooms. Employers cannot be expected to make complex human-rights determinations about whether particular men are allowed into womenâs changing rooms, and then to

No one ever just wants to say 'no'.
@HJoyceGender @SexMattersOrg @MForstater This looks like a first tier Tribunal believing it can substitute its view of the law for that of the Supreme Court?

Our first thoughts on the Sandie Peggie judgment.
The judgment in Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife and Dr Upton has been published. We are pleased that Sandie Peggie has won her claim of harassment against NHS Fife, and that the hospital trust was criticised for its terrible handling of the complaint against her.

If Guiding HQ struggles with thinking about girls as a group with their own needs, then maybe they would like to think about the harm they have been involved in doing to certain little boys, probably mainly ones who left alone would simply grow up to be gay, in recent years?
@prof_curiosity1 Tell me, what is kind about embedding a young child into a structure where they build friendships and shared experiences that are contingent on that child (or that childâs parentsâŚ) not changing their mind about their girl or boy-ness? Very little, Iâd suggest.

What makes this discussion between Baroness Falkner and @TrevorPTweets so riveting is that he *really* understands the subject, having guided the EA2010 into being. Worth watching the whole thing (YouTube link below) But this exchange stands out https://t.co/oDCvnguBI1

Baroness Falkner is right to speak up. What troubles me most is the culture she describes where feelings replace facts and where activism subverts impartiality. A culture where public bodies ignore the law because they fear social media more than they respect the people they
