Three years ago last week the Grillo Lab opened our doors. Today we toured the "new old chem" building that we'll move into next month. Excited for the future discoveries we'll make in the impressive space! #newPI #newbuilding

Happy Holidays from the Grillo Lab! It was a fantastic third year, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead. It is important to stop to celebrate and appreciate our accomplishments and hard work. I loved our Potluck and "Secret Tony" to end the year! #mitochondria

Hypoxia in a pill! Chronic, continuous 11% FIO2 suppresses brain pathology in models of mitochondrial disease and aging, but we need practical alternatives. We combine a Hb "left-shifter" with a HIF2a inhibitor to achieve therapeutic hypoxia in mice. https://t.co/6sX9kieRPV

What I don't get about academia is the chronic lack of celebration. It is hard to get & maintain grant funding, hard to get papers accepted without Faustian bargains, hard to be a great mentor, & hard to maximize trainee success. All of it is hard. We should celebrate everything.
